Mine is one of the many S&W Safety Hammerless .32 top break New Departure revolvers. The short 2” barrel version is also known as a bicycle gun. I heard that dogs chased bikes and that bike riders would shoot at the dogs (hopefully just to scare them away).

That is my serial number. I wonder if the OGCA member who had it on his table was the buyer in 2023.

That scroll and geometric engraving appears to be in the style of Colt engraver Cuno Helfricht who worked at Colt from 1871-1921.

Have not shot it. I've fired several Model 63's and decided to leave this one alone.

Yes. The toe of the grip frame is what I referred to when I mentioned that the front of the grips at the bottom of the frame had a slight modification. I see the things that everyone pointed out. A letter might be worthwhile given the early serial number. Thanks!
