    Let's see your Victory Models!

My Navy Marked Victory I’ve been looking for one of these for a while. As luck would have it, I got it with a Boyt USN ‘43 shoulder holster. Written on the back of the holster was the name “LT Robbins”. All serial numbers match, to include on the inside of the stocks. The SN is V 139691...

    WWII S&W Victory Question?

There is a “Navy” stamped Victory that I am interested in. My question is this: Should the number on the inside of the crane match the serial number on the bottom of the grip?

I’ve seen the term “Registered Magnum” before, but don’t know what this is. Please explain.

    Python Vs. Your Favorite S&W?

There’s an interesting thread on the Colt forum, regarding whether the Python is all it’s cracked up to be. I don’t own a Python, but admire them greatly. I was surprised in reading the thread, that several responders were quick to point out that their favorite S&W’s stacked up at least good...

    Model 57 - Good Trade?

Funny that you say that. Was over at my brother’s range today in rural north Florida, primarily shooting 38’s. He had his .44, fired 6 and said thank-you very much. The difference in recoil between his 44 and the 41 is significant.

    Model 57 - Good Trade?

A couple of years ago I traded a Colt 100th year anniversary 1911 (1918) for this Model 57 (N 617246). I’ll let you all tell me if it was a good trade or not. Here’s why I traded: I have an original 1911 (1918 Black Army) and it’s 100% original down to the code on the magazine. And it has...

    Colt Commando or SW Victory?

I appreciate the info from you guys. We had a local auction here last week. There were probably 7-8 Victory’s and about the same number of Commandos, two which were 2” barrels. There were several nice Victory’s that sold in the $550 range, there were two Navy’s that went for about $850...

    Colt Commando or SW Victory?

Well, hmmm. Don’t know, but I’ll post photos when I decide. I got rid of most of my milsurp years ago and only hung on to my 5 or 6 favorites. Told myself I was done buying. It would be easier to cure COVID than to cure the milsurp bug.

    Colt Commando or SW Victory?

What about a Navy marked Victory VS. Commando? Anything particularly unique about the Navy marked Victory? I’d like to get both, but keeping marital bliss precludes...

Looking at two locally available 4” WWII handguns referenced above of similar condition. Which would you buy and why?
