    I hit the grip jackpot!

That’s just some of my collection. The lot came with the red pre war k22 box, the 1926 44 gold box, a 4” presentation box, and the 3 blue boxes in the foreground. It was a local Ohio auction!

    I hit the grip jackpot!

Thank you! I’ve had a few, but I honestly can’t decide what to keep and what to part with. I’ve bought several boxes in the quest to find a gun, but I’ve yet to buy a grip to find a gun! Sounds like a neat challenge.

    I hit the grip jackpot!

Thanks so much! I was a bit nervous at first but once I got everything in hand I knew I made the right choice by bidding them so high.

    I hit the grip jackpot!

They sure don’t look like any Goncalo I’ve ever seen, but there’s so much variation.

    I hit the grip jackpot!

I don’t care to say I paid $1800 after tax and premium. The lot also came with 6 sets of Herrett style grips, a set of SAA gen 2 eagle motif grips, Colt Scout/Frontier grips, Colt original 1911 grips, a RB set of K combats I gave to a buddy locally, and two Colt New Frontier barrels. Oh and...

The 1926 box is no slouch either. Original parts sheet for the 1950 model, helpful hints, a fact sheet on the 1950 model by Jinks, and I think an original cleaning brush for it. Can anyone confirm if the 44’s came with a large nylon type brush?

    I hit the grip jackpot!

I’ve seen a lot of variation in the grain and color of Goncalo Alves, but these are completely different than anything I’ve ever seen. That’s why I questioned it.

I was going back and forth too, but I found what appears to be the same grip in the 5th edition on page 59.

    I hit the grip jackpot!

Thanks! I nearly forgot, in addition to the Colt grips the lot also came with a pre-war K22 Outdoorsman box that’s one of the nicest I’ve seen and a gold 1926 model 44 target box too! I’ll shoot a photo of the 1926 tomorrow.
