    Model 686-6 Plus

Thanks! Measured it and it is indeed a 2.5” barrel. I need to find a holster for it; AIWB or IWB, probably leather? I want to make it a part of the carry rotation. I’ll eventually slide some wood grips on there, but I like the way the rubber grips feel too. I did trade off the Mini, ended...

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

Aren’t we already judge and jury when we sell a weapon?

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

That is unfortunate and unfair, but I do think that the model of instant gratification on its own is not enough to justify hazarding the public health.

Revolver vs. Semi Auto for CCW

This is actually my exact 99% of the time EDC too. Beretta 84FS in a Beretta IWB holster or a 442 in a Don Hume pocket or generic Kydex or soft pleather holster; one reload if I'm wheeling it. I live in Central Texas and I really don’t think I need any “more” firepower than either of these. I’m...

FN Mauser and a High Standard

Finally done with my 2025 buying/trading/selling spate, and it’s been productive! I traded a 28” Winchester M1200 and a -181 series Mini 14 for a JC Higgens Model 50 rifle in unified, pristine condition with its JC-Higgens branded “rifleman” scope (a Weaver K4 of WW2 style) in .30-06 and a High...

Lack of interest in 40 SW yet 10MM is getting popular??

Aside from the latent racism and DonD’s smugness, the only thing you'd really need to do here is move even slightly uphill or to his side. No need to shoot.

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

I mean, when one sells a firearm, we are already assuming a degree of liability as to what is done with it afterwards. “Discrimination” isn’t necessarily a bad thing; it is incumbent for us to discriminate against those whom should not have firearms due to temperament or ideation

    Advantages of 681 over 686?

I personally find adjustable sights to be “blockier” and easier to aim through, but fixed carries better si it’s a wash

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

And that is why the Democrats and anti-gunners will eventually win…we as a collective refuse to regulate ourselves, and the consequences are lethal for the public. Perhaps if someone isn’t willing to vouch for a person to immediately procure a semiautomatic weapon, that person has a reasonable...

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

Not what I’m saying, at all. I’m saying that people under 25 should generally have a waiting period to purchase a semiautomatic firearm unless they have an LTC, police service or military service with an NCO’s approval, approval from a clergy member, mayor, LEO/sheriff, judge, doctor...

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

Given that I'm not advocating a waiting period for all persons in all cases. I am advocating a waiting period for persons under 25, persons purchasing a semi automatic weapon, and to have conduits available to bypass the waiting period if appropriate. If you're a scared young woman needing a...

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

And the shooters that did Columbine. uvalde, Santa Fe, Parkland, et al did the same…and then they did harm people. I’m not saying that youth shouldn’t be allowed to purchase semiautomatic rifles; I’m pointing out that they should involve parents, law enforcement or other responsible people in...

Federal appeals court halts New Mexico's seven-day gun waiting period, says it's 'likely' unconstitutional

Buuutttt they do medically have an incompletely-developed frontal cortex; demonstrably less impulse control and Other Things To Do. That’s why I think there should be a reasonable waiting period for certain things for younger people.

    .22 Bolt Action Rifle

I have a Ruger American in 22 long rifle, and I honestly think it’s becoming my go to general purpose rifle. It uses 10/22 mags, but since it a bolt action, it’s far easier to clear stuck magazines, and it seems to be even more useful. I took it with me to the range today to burn some rounds and...

    Guess I Won't Buy a Car Until Oct. 15

Now as far as “impressive” efficiency goes…gotta give it to my wife’s Jetta. Gas 1.4L turbo, thing absolutely sprints through West Texas in the summer with ice-cold A/C, 95mph and 42mpg; oil temps 235ish in the day.

    Guess I Won't Buy a Car Until Oct. 15

Oh, the Cuck is loaded up with warranties. It’s a Jetta powertrain in a compact SUV body…a car and a truck…the Cuck! I’m averaging 38mpg, have around 9000 miles on it, and am very satisfied. It’s moved a decent-sized safe and plenty of household stuff with the rear seats down.
