Revolver vs. Semi Auto for CCW

Thoughts... I carry a gun for one reason, as insurance for a day I hope never happens. And because I am not going to be at the mercy of some one else. I practice and stay proficient because I know, if that day happens, I'm on my own, no one is coming to save me. And I want the best possible...

    Aluminum Case Ammo

I use to hear the same thing about wearing my extractor out on my AR's cause I was shooting steel. It was all bull ****. The amount of ammo I would need to shoot (and the cost) would justify the cost to purchase a $10 AR extractor, if in fact they really did wear them out, they don't.

    Aluminum Case Ammo

This, I have shot tons of steel and Aluminum cased ammo when it was cheaper then brass. now the price hovers around the cost of brass, so I by brass so I can shoot at an indoor range. If you gun won't shoot Steel or Aluminum ammo, it's you guns fault.

    The Beretta M9

My Armor unit got new in the wrap M9's right from the Accokeek MD plant. (circa 1994-95 IIRC)Came with Magazines Stamped Made in Italy. They were a tight fit in our Black leather M7 shoulder holsters. Since they were brand new and not rattle trap 1911's, everyone was thrilled. Qual scores did...

Testing my P320 for Undesired Discharge

Too many other pistols without the bad rep to carry, Only has to happen to you ONCE!! I knew there would be a price to pay for what I thought was a too good to be true trigger when I shot one years ago.

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Actually it had a lackluster performance in the GWOT (I know, due to Magazines) but it still got it's reputation tarnished. While I agree the 9mm cartridge is fine, the Ball run has lackluster terminal performance. And I'm going to say the Glock has been torture tested way more then the...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

I may sound like a Glock fan boy, but my experience is the are incredibly reliable. I have Glocks that I've shot thousands of rds. of cheap 115 grain steel cased Wolf and other cheap ammo thru, with just some oil on the receiver rails and the barrel hood and slide rail grooves. Never have I...

Interesting Averages for shots fired in a Self-Defense

One does not "Rise to the occasion" but defaults to there level of training. If all you ever do is carry a small pistol in you pocket and shoot occasionally at short range targets...Then that is what you will default too if the moment arises. The odds are in your favor as to never having to do...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

Ever wonder why Tier one units like Delta and the Ranger BN's use the G19? Delta could use whatever pistol the wanted and they chose the Striker fired G19. A consistent trigger pull... Super reliable... Lightweight... Excellent magazines... Good capacity... can mount optics and lights...

So… is the Beretta M9 still the Worst?

I was fortunate, I carried both 1911A1's and the M9. Both were good pistols. that said, time moved on for the 1911. I never liked the slide mounted safety/decocker on the M9. When doing a tap rack bang or slingshotting the slide on a speed reload, it was too easy to engage it. The M9 is bulky...

    SIG P320 Discharges?

A lot of wrong information in this thread. Striker fired pistols have been around for 40 plus years. and the Glock and S&W M&P pistols all have a firing pin/Striker block that will not allow the striker to move forward until the trigger is pressed back, allowing the striker block to lift upward...

    SIG P320 Discharges?

Key Issues Faced by Portland PD with Glock Pistols Concerns Over Safety: Officers and critics raised alarms about the lack of a manual safety and the relatively light trigger pull. This led to fears of accidental discharges, especially during high-stress situations or reholstering. Training...

    SIG P320 Discharges?

Those issues were cops having there finger on the trigger during Holstering or using SERPA holster. Glocks have never "Gone off" by themselves. You look at late 70 to early 80 pics and video's of Cops and .Mil. They all had there fingers on the triggers, because that was a byproduct of training...
