Shot my first Glock model 26 today, here are my thoughts and impressions......

I never was a Glock fan either because of the angle and boxy feel of the grip. 40 years after firing my first one, I discovered the relatively recent G48 with slim grip, single stack magazine, and extended beavertail on the upper grip. Felt better in my hand than any Glock I had ever picked...

    Today's range lesson, the failure wasn't my S&W 340

I would ditch the magnum loads and stick with standard pressure or +P .38’s.

    Old time TV guns

The gun rack in the background in the Sheriff’s office in the old Andy Griffith Show has a couple of interesting-looking guns. In one or two episodes the hillbilly character Ernest T. Bass is shown carrying and shooting what looks like an 1892 Winchester carbine with a large bore, probably a...

    The Beretta M9

I don’t know, two friends of mine have had the Taurus versions and fired them thousands of times each, with no issues. No cracked slides either.

    The Beretta M9

Too big. The Taurus version with the thumb safety like a 1911 is better because the thumb safety is like a 1911.

    66-2 3” Ashland special

You are absolutely right about the longer ejector rods. Even though I have several J frames, and like them all, the ones with barrels of 2 1/8" or longer and have the longer ejector rods are my favorites. The Smith family you have there is lookin’ pretty good!

Why are people more cautious carrying a chambered bodyguard 2.0?

Thanks. Good info. I will try that if I get a second 2.0 Bodyguard. As much as I love my J frames and Glock 42 for pocket carry, I find myself carrying the Bodyguard most of the time nowadays.

In my .380’s I stack alternately hollow-point/full metal jacket flat point in the magazines.

    Radio silence.

I hope for your sake when they pulled out the nasal tube it hurt a whole lot less than it did when the male nurse yanked out mine. Awful! A whole new type and level of pain.

    THAT's pretty good. Above average.😆

Beretta and Gersun .380 "Tip Up" Barrel Pistols

I stand corrected. Still not a Beretta 92 fan. Too big and bulky and I don’t like the safety.

.380 ACP: Flat-Point FMJ vs JHP

Me too. I have a case and a half of the .380 Winchester FMJFP and sitting out on the screened-in front porch that has remarkably consistent bullet profiles and diameters on every cartridge I have looked at so far while loading and shooting them. I would like to see photos of the aforementioned...

.380 ACP: Flat-Point FMJ vs JHP

Your statement about flat points being “made because some were dropped on the floor when still malleable” may be the dumbest statement I have seen made on this forum, If you were serious.

.380 ACP: Flat-Point FMJ vs JHP

I don’t think they do it intentionally. When the testers realize what they have done their reaction is that they made a mistake. By intentionally firing at an angle-corner to corner so to speak-they would only gain a couple of inches of gelatin for the bullet to potentially travel.

    PMC .380 JHP

Winchester .380 FMJ Flat Point white box seems to be a good compromise between expansion and penetration. Cheaper than hollow-points too. Hard to find in stores. Easily available online. I suspect most retailers don’t know it even exists.

Beretta and Gersun .380 "Tip Up" Barrel Pistols

I believe the Beretta 92 and clones are blowback designs, but they have massive slides.

I will be praying for you. I had a liver transplant 15 April 25, so I know a little about extra-serious surgery. I am recovering pretty well, but it has been a bit of a slog. I lost 36 pounds of fat and muscle mass in the 4 weeks after surgery. Have gained some of it back. But hang in there.

    Glock has really shocked me!

One of my favorite 9mm’s is my Glock 48. I really like the single stacks. They are thinner and fit my hands much better.

    Glock has really shocked me!

If you think Glock triggers are light you should check out a few S&W 2.0 .380 Bodyguard triggers. Mine is about 4.5 pounds, which, in my humble opinion, is too light fot a gun that will primarily be carried in a pocket. Preferably in a pocket holster. That’s why I ordered mine with the thumb...
