I'm super tempted to have someone turn my 10-9 into a 4" PPC gun (would love 3", but Aristocrat still makes 4" sight ribs, so 4" is going to be a lot easier!). Beautiful guns, thanks everyone for sharing!

Well, I know most of the pictures I've taken of my Clark Custom Combat have been pretty grainy... here's a better one.

I can finally declare victory in my search to EQUAL the Federal 148 grain Gold Medal in my Clark PPC Revolver! I've tried Bullseye, 231, 700-X and finally... WST!

Bullet: Speer 148 gr. HBWC
Powder: WST 2.7 grs.
Primer: Federal 100 Small Pistol
Case: Federal .38 Special
LOAL: 1.180
Comments: Brass processed using Lee Undersized .38 Super Carbide Die and expanded with Lyman M-Die. Taper-crimped with RCBS Die.

I love those Bill Davis grips! I've got an extra set just in case they ever wear out. Here's a group with the previous load at twenty-five yards (five shots off the bags).

About the best I can do nowadays...

Had a chance a couple of years ago to buy one like that for $500 from the LGS. Passed as I already had my Behlert. Enjoy yours.

Ok I’ll play! This is my current wheelie. Built on a 686-6 with an HBH 4 position rib and custom Apex barrel and finished with a beautiful set of Nills.

How about a little bit of 2 tone Balck on Silver, Polished on Matte action…

A custom marriage of a Korth rib to a S&W 686-6. Full DLC surface treatments and of course a beautiful set of Nills!

Here’s the first one I built. It started as a PC 625-8. I used a Douglas blank for the barrel, made the underlug, and mounted an old Witchita rib to it. This was circa 2010. I started competing in 2008 with an old worn out Power Custom I bought. I built this one in 2009 and made Grand Master with it by the end of the season. These were the first Nills I ever owned. I still have it and bring it out on odd occasions to keep the young guys honest

Congrats on your Grand Master rating. It takes a top shooter to achieve that. I built a 625 very similar to that one except for the underlug and Nill grips, and a matching 686.

Here’s another one I built for a friend. It got the full TIN surface treatment and custom cylinder cuts. Another Korth Super Sport 4 position rib with the dial adjustable rear sight gap. Love the finish of the Nills!

My gun is a 1969 and I just found these groovy stocks. They fit like a glove and are so alien in shape that I love them. Ergonomic before ergonomic was a thing.

A little bit of old school meets new school. Had a friend ask me to rebuild his old model 64. Full custom bull barrel from a Jury blank. HBH 4 position rib set as low into the barrel as possible. Custom skeletonized and bobbed hammer. And for that old school cool I stippled the back strap and framed them with a beautiful set of Nills.

I like my Wichita ribs, but the HBH ones look a lot nicer. Where do you get them, and how much do they cost?

What kind of sauce do they use on those ribs?

Default HBH 4 position rib

These HBH 4 position ribs are far superior to the old Witchita. They are the next generation. Start with a quick change rear blade to adjust width of the rear notch and return to zero every time. Next you have the 4 position adjustment screws. Each individual screw is click adjustable with known elevation values per click plus no little set screws to strip! Fully integrated Picatiny rail for running optics. At the front end you have a quick change front blade assembly. These ribs are extremely well designed and built. I buy them directly from a smith in Germany. They are not cheap. Completely kitted out with all 4 widths of rear blades and a couple varieties of front posts you’re looking at $1000 USD. The only other 4 position rib even close is the Korth Super Sport. Same price point but are no longer in production.

Default The Beast

Here’s a custom HEAVY barrel revolver I built for a friend. He wanted something one of a kind custom with some mass to it! The barrel started life as a 2” diameter Apex blank. I love shooting this one.

Default 681-1 Wichita Rib

Bought this online and picked it up today. In the ad it said 38 Special but I knew better. The slickness of the action is just as I had hoped. There’s no name as to who the builder was. Notice the ball and detent on top of the yoke. That was not in the ad. I’ll try and figure out the Wichita adjustments out at the range.

Here’s a few pictures of one I have on my bench right now. This one’s heading out to the West coast as a Christmas present😉.
It’s a slab side/ bull barrel hybrid with a full Diamond like carbon DLC and Tin gold surface treatment. A Korth Super Sport rib and beautiful set of Nills finish it off. The stainless steal still needs a final polish before it’s ready for sending.

Strayhand ? guns was the best builder of the PPC guns that I tried out. They hand a coil main spring and was smooth as silk. I built mine with a Douglas barrel and a beat-up model ten, best gun I own.

This is such an old thread glad to see it's still going
I'll add another
This guy belonged to a well known PPC shooter that's a good friend and has won so many prizes and trophies...there were 3 he used, this was Number 1 and the best. I still bring it out and shoot it occasionally.

It’s actually Strahan, Travis Strahan, legendary pistolsmith from Ringgold, Georgia. He was a gunsmith for the Army Marksmanship Unit.

Here is one of the two Strahan guns I’m fortunate to own.
