Holster question.
I'm shooting a local USPSA match this weekend with my recently purchased 625-6. I haven't had time to get fully outfitted for this gun. I do have a western rig that the N frame actually fits into. I read through the USPSA manual, it said there was no holster restrictions for the revolver category, other than the gun must sit at hip level. Will any holster be acceptable to use?
I shot last month with my snubbie 686 and safariland comp II's. I'm excited to try it with some full moons.

Pretty much anything should be ok as long as the trigger is covered or the holster "prevents access to" the trigger.
There are holster restrictions for different classes you should be aware of if you're going to buy something but as a new shooter take what you've got or can borrow and have fun.

Most people I know use a Bladetech DOH. Very secure without mechanical retention and fast enough.

Just ordered a Bladetech Dropped & Offset Holster (DOH). You should be able to find one in stock somewhere for your 625 compared to my 686.

Where did you order it? Is there a scarcity of the 686 version?

I ordered directly from Bladetech using their Rush service. I figured most people who shot any form of revolver competition used a 625 which would make it easier to find in stock. I couldn't find a DOH 686 4" anywhere.

Been using a Kramer OWB or a DeSantis for USPSA/IDPA matches using my M28 4". Works great for me...might work well for you as well.
Blade tech seems like a good holster if you like kydex.

IDPA and USPSA are two entirely different shooting sports, with very different rules.

H Richard is totally correct...
IDPA/USPSA certainly are different. One thing does remain constant in both for holsters is that the trigger guard be covered.
In IDPA and USPSA both my Kramer and DeSantis are on the belt with the trigger guard being covered with the leather of the holster. Some of my IDPA colleagues use an IWB holster which satisfies this requirement.
I wholeheartedly suggest that you read the rules of each and then make a purchasing decision based on that.
