Shot it last night, pictures later today.
My emtry.
7 yards, wadcutters loaded to MAX. Shot 4 targets, these are the best.
with Iron sights, single action, 3 1/4" group.
With Laser sight, 1 3/4" Single action.
Fired 5 shots right, then 5 left hand (one hand) and realized I was shooting left hand right Eye. I shot another target with my left eye, a little more spread out bue centered better.
Laser is a no brainer. Both Eyes open, hold the dot as steady as possible and squeeze.

One more try since its christmas, I used the S&W 624 that was my dads.
5 shots left hand right eye, 5 shots left hand left eye, 5 shots right hand right eye.
Nothing fantastic, but I learned shooting from the left hand, shots go right. Not enough to matter in a close encounter.
Then I used my Bulldog. On this one I found out the silver sights show up better on the black bull.
Merry Christmas

Since Participation was a little light, we will do the same match for January.
5 shots right hand, 5 shots left hand, 7 yards Single or Double Action.
Show us your targets!
Get out and SHOOT!

???
I have been following this thread with interest. I have a couple of questions. When you say right hand, left hand, does that mean one hand or can I support my gun hand with other hand?
I am going to shoot my S&W Ladysmith, Model 60 with 2" barrel. I will be shooting my Kimber Ultra also. (I can't have the Kimber feeling left out.) Does the Kimber count as a "stubby"? Three-inch barrel.
Thanks

I mean one hand in case the other one gets shot or cut off in a situation.
Go ahead and shoot the kimber. Be sure to show pictures of the gun and target.
This is all in fun, Just get out and shoot, so you can be better with your firearm of choice.
With participation as low, you will probably win.

I didn't get to the range in December but I'll have more time now that I'm retired. Anyway, here are two targets, one with the Model 10 and one with the Model 60. The one with the 60 would've been pretty good but for the one I threw out the bottom.

Last Months Winner is WYO with 1.82" C to C.
I shot a few targets with my LCP last week. Had some good ones going then a flier on the last shot almost off the paper. The trigger guard smacks my finger. Left handed, I could not take it and flinched big time.
FOR FEBRUARY we will shoot 7 yards 2 hands DA only. 10 shots.
Hoping for more response
David

Here is pic of target from 10 yard free standing two handed 38 spl from my 640-1.
What do ya'll think about it? Is it all that bad from 10 yards out with a 3" snub?

This is a cool thread....
I didn't pay a lot of attention because I'm no great shakes at shooting snubbies, but I've acquired two 'J' frames and I see that some of you are about the same speed as I am and the fun of just participating is a real draw. I might throw my hand in. I really enjoy looking at other's targets, especially something challenging, like a snub.
Question: Is all shooting done in DA?

This month its DA. Sometimes it can be both. If you tell us how you shot, it is fine. I make it DA because all those 642 type out there.
gman-51 if you want to know how your shooting stacks up to others, follow the instructions in the first post and shoot this months match.

Of course I don't see this thread until we came home from shooting today. My dad, son, and I took the .38 snubbies out today (along with the 617, the model 60, and the .44 stealth hunter. Had a great time, even though the targets didn't show it. That and once I figure the picture thing out here.

Well no need for me to show my targets. Most here are shooting better at 25 yards than I shoot at 10 yards.
Even using my Sig P226 at 25 yards I still can't shoot as well as ya'll are doing with snubs.
99% of the time I only shoot from a 10 yard point so at 25 yards I can see the target but I have to walk to the target to see where I even hit. Ya'll are much better shooters than I am for sure. I will enjoy watching how ya'll are doing though.

Nice stocks. So far you are in the lead! I need to get out more, I always carry a 637 with CT laser grips. I should shoot it more.

My entries for February. That 342 is a wonderful little carry gun, especially in an ankle holster, but it is snappy to shoot! As usual, I shoot best with the K frame Model 10-5. Not sure why one of the photos is rotated when uploaded, but you get the idea.

Final entry for February.
S&W 637, 7 yards DA only, both hands. 158 JHP loaded to the max.
Two inches C-C.
I fired my last five with the laser and again achieved two inches.

February winner is Wyo with 1.03" group. Great shooting.
I carry my 38 in an ankle holster almost all the time.
For March, shoot 10 shots, 10 yards from a barricade or post, like you are hiding around a corner. Be careful not to dig up your hands or arms. Both hands, DA or SA, what ever works for you. You can also rest the gun on the post if it does not mar the finish.
Best of luck
David

Any guidelines for March yet?
7 yards, single action, both hands, 1 1/2", Model 637. Shot about 125 rounds, that was my best by far.

125 grain sierra JHP with 3.8 grains of bullseye out of my 637. 10 yards, 10 shots, 3 3/8". Both hands, SA.
Edit: I was using the door frame of the explorer as a "barricade or post". Heck, I must really stink if I cant win and I was the only one to enter in March. haha

Apparently April was busy for everybody as there wasn't an April match. I was busy getting the mower, chainsaw, weedwacker, motorcycle, etc. up and running. As well as a couple of gun club matches, and of course, there was Easter.
So David, how 'bout it. Let's get out and shoot!! Post a match and I am in.

OK! May match.
We can now shoot outside. I would need an ark around here.
5 yards. 5 rounds left hand 5 rounds right hand,.
One target one hand.
Smallest 10 shot group wins!

What ever works for you. Not all shooters have Single action, so to keep it even, go for double action.
OR shoot one target (10 rounds) single action
THEN shoot another double and see the difference.
For speed, Hits only count, so..... Do what you gotta do.
We still have **** weather here too. Pouring rain for weeks and more to come.

This is gonna be a good news-bad news reply.
The good news; my first attempt was a respectable 5.4"
The bad news; my next 3 attempts I had 2 shots off each target (8" paper plate) w/weak hand. I had a really bad flinch left-handed.
Shot with a S&W 640 Centennial, full house .357 loads.

Yes, there is a message.
It is obviously a right-handed gun. It doesn't play nice with my left hand.

This was frustrating, SP101 2 1/4", I know this would stop a bad guy just fine but I feel like it should group tighter.

Well, that wasn't my first thought. More along the line of magnum loads in light guns shot with the weak hand.....

I hope so. I always left left out because I didn't own any revolvers shorter than 4". Now I've bought 3 snubbies--so let's see a match!
