Internet S & W handgun Match
New match for the month of June.
25 yards OFF HAND any caliber, any Smith And Wesson handgun. Any barrel length, any sight.
If it gets competitive, I will make more classes, but lets start easy.
I need to see a picture of the handgun, tape measure and the target.
Prize is 25 custom printed targets mailed to you. No fee to enter.

Off hand is no resting or leaning standing on your hind legs. One or two hands does not matter.

Should I presume that any target is fair game & it is for group size only?
Thanks!

I see that I've already been beaten, but I'm posting anyway. I've had this 39 for a while, but hadn't shot it at 25 yards. I shoot at 10 and under, and half that is point shooting, and practicing first shot double action, second shot single. It's one of my three main carry handguns.
My best of 2 was 4.360", center to center. I'm not sure I could have done better with my BHP.
I think this is a great idea! It'll at least teach me a thing or two about my own shooting.

I don't know if this counts….I shoot a LEO marksmanship type match between the months of May to Oct (one a month)….overall winner gets a buckle in their respective category.
I shoot a tired 686 4" that was tuned years ago by Bob Jones (don't think he works on guns anymore). My 686 was a police gun early 80s - 1993 and then traded to the academy from 1993 to 2008 when I bought it.
April was a practice match and I did not make the match but I shot it at home. This was my first time shooting my 686 since Oct 2013. I use either 158 SWC loaded by me or 148 WC loaded by me.
The match consists of all free hand on a B27 Target
5 yards 8 shots, (2 shots 3 seconds x4)
7 yards 12 shots with a reload, (25 seconds)
15 yards 12 shots with a reload and (35 seconds)
25 yards 18 shots with two reloads (90 seconds)
April 2014 (practice) shot a horrible 490/500 using 158 SWC
May 2014 (first match of the season), I needed to make a sight correction and using 148 WC. (I hope to improve on the June Match at the end of the month) I already made a rear sight correction.
when I say tired….check out the center pin hole in the back plate. I am on the wait list with Cyl&Slide to fix my hole!!!!!!!!!

I did not measure the group at the time it was shot but I will at the next match and I will differentiate all shots to the 15 and then 25. they let us inspect the target before going back to the 25 and I will snap a quick pic.
I took a B27 repair and recalled the 10 ring is 4" X 6". Well my repair is a little short of 4X6, but we will call it that.
best guess, my 50 shot group is approximately 5" X 5"
each mark is 1"

25-7 Model of 1989. One sweet revolver. I smoked the sights with a match and used a Merritt optical thing. 9 grains unique. 900 fps.

Today was the 2nd match of the season. I used my 4" 686 as shown in the picture above. my load was the same 2.7 WST using a 148 P/D.
I drove 1.5 hours to the match and when I walked out to the range for my first match (semi auto)…I felt tired. I only got 5.5 hours of sleep. OK enough whining.
Revolver match which I shot second. It was very windy and there were times were I had to stop shooting as the wind was pushing me. At 15 yds I lost my concentration and had a hard time getting back in focus for some reason. I am assuming fatigue. At 25 yds, it was 18 shots and on my second 6, I found myself fighting with my trigger finger. I shot so slow on my second six, I had about 20 seconds to shoot my last 6 rounds.
I still managed a decent third losing second place to X's. Measurement is beyond 4"X6" for 50 rounds….so I dogged this one.
the winner shot a 495. The round at 5 O'clock in the 9 ring, I knew would be there as that was were my sight was when the shot broke.
On a positive note, I did bring my group up from the last match.

SW cobb 45 I would drive 1.5 hours to shoot a match like that. Excellent target, you kept your head through the whole match.
This match ends monday night.
Enter Early, Enter Often. I am going to try one more tomorrow. Same smith 25-7 model of 1989.

ME Morrison, you get the award for most targets and bring out the iron. Looks like you had a blast. Are these the same ones you sent? 5 pics fit in one post. Ask some one else how. I may shoot one more target tonight.

Thank you, I did have a blast! Most targets, eh?
The ones I sent you were for the snubbie match, both 10 & 25 yds. My daughter "educated" me on how to "git r done". Now I can manage digital cameras & photobucket - yay me!
The ones I posted were for the "big guns"

"Enter Early Enter often"
I fired one more target last night. I have been shooting silhouette with my 25-7. Ran out of my home cast 255 grain reloads, so I have one box of 275 grain. Both have 9 grains of unique. I shot this target to see where the sights were for the heavier bullet. Not good, only 4 on the paper.
David
I ordered some powder coated Bayu Bullets for this gun. I quit casting because lead poisening. The press is set up, I will be reloading and shooting by next week.
