Question Sight graduations? - I got the answer from S&W

I keep with me in my shooting bag a photo-copy of the sight adjustment page (p24 online version now) from the standard Smith & Wesson revolver manual. But I have had little luck finding any information on the what each click in sight movement equates to in point of impact movement. Right now, I'm more interested in wind-age than elevation, but this has to be written down somewhere.

Anyone have any rule of thumb information on this using the standard S&W adjustable rear sight for revolvers?

Currently getting ready for deer season and need to move my POI a bit to the left, with my current load, on both a 29-3 and a 629-4.

Thanks

Default This from a chat with S&W support on their web site

Thank you for choosing Smith&Wesson. A representative will be with you shortly.
You are now chatting with 'Steve'

Steve: Hello Pete, Welcome to our Live Chat. How may I help you today?

Pete: seeking information that has alluded me despite my posting on the Smith & Wesson forum and endless online searching

Steve: Ok. What is your question?

Pete: Where can I find any rule of thumb for the standard point of impact change for every click in revolver rear sight movement of the standard issue S&W adjustable rear sight on K, L, N frame revolvers?!?!

Steve: Average is 1 click = 1/4" at 20 ft.

Pete: windage and elevation?

Steve: correct

Pete: thanks!!

Same rear sight motion per click regardless of barrel length, so a 2 1/2" barreled 19 will move POI rather more than a 10 5/8" 29-3 silhouette model!
