Fun day with my 625-JM
Shot my long neglected 625-8 JM at our ICORE match today. Was fun shooting and competing with a moonclip gun again. It shot well digesting md delivering my reloads accurately.
I’ve been focusing on my 581 or my Ruger GP100 WC lately since moving and am glad I took the 625 out of the bowels of my safe for a run today.
I did fairly well, winning my division and coming in 3d overall. The stages included freestyle, strong and weak hand only elements testing us well.
As it’s easier to recover moonclips than individual rounds for reloading, I’ll likely shoot this more over the winter.

Been using moonclips and ACP revolvers for decades. I no longer compete but would use them if I did.

Had another fun day with my 625-8 at our ICORE match. Came in 1st overall which made the day even sweeter. That said, several of the other good shooters weren’t able to make it. Still a win is a win :-).
Will say, picking up moon clipped empties was far easier than individual cases in the snow…….

I sold my 625 JM years ago, my hands have some mild arthritis and the pounding of the 45 didn’t agree with them. However it was a fantastic gun that I wish I still owned. I recently picked up a 627 and I hope to start shooting icore this coming year. My 686SSR is set up for IDPA so I’m excited to go back to moonclips with the 627.

Todays ICORE match was a bust- had to cancel due to snow & high winds. As much as a few of wanted to shoot, there is no reason to subject ourselves to miserable conditions; especially since we shoot2x monthly.
Hopefully weather will cooperate next match.

I had mine out for some fun at the indoor range over the holidays. Just a great gun in a fun easy to load caliber.

Had another good day with my 625, enabling me to win our local ICORE match. Today started bitterly cold, (-1 at start, 19 when we left) but no wind and bright sunshine, so it wasn’t too bad.
As usual, the 625 operated smoothly and accurately for me. Am enjoying this gun tremendously. After I fully classify with it, I’ll return to my 581 with intent to shoot it at an ICORE sanctioned match this summer.

Yet another fun day with my 625. Despite a brain fart, I won our match today. This gun just shoots well for me. Was a 100 rd course of fire over 5 stages with required reloads and some weak hand / strong hand only strings of fire.
Once the weather gets better and we no longer have snow, I’ll be shooting my 581 and M22-4.

I didn’t do as well as I had hoped today, but still won the L6 div in our 2x monthly ICORE match. We had some bad weather and a quirky tablet that needed my attention throughout the match, but that’s no excuse. I faired poorly in stages that had weak hand shooting- something I need to work on.
Still had a fun day shooting with friends, which for me is what it’s all about

Another good, fun day with my 625 (albeit cold and windy) at our ICORE match. Used it in the new BIG 6 division, which is akin to major power factor fin USPSA. Won my division, and came in 3d overall. Feel good about my performance given the talent we have here.
A friend used his M57 (41 Mag) also in BIG 6 and did quite well.
Overall a fun day with like minded folks!

If you can reload, the 625 will be friendly. The power factory for ICORE is quite low. If you have to shoot factory stuff, not much fun at all.
Reloading also makes life easier using the 627.
Our local ICORE activities aren't the same for quite a while. It started as revolver, then someone said "why not load up magazines with 9mm so we don't have to reload as often."
I'm old enough that when I took the NROI class long ago, the stages were supposed to be 6 round neutral.
