Calling ANY grips caps? Calling ANY grip caps?
Anyone have a line on S&W grip caps for target K grips? Have never seen them for sale, but "back in the day" when LEO, there were officers who had these on the grips of their revolvers.
Usually exact shapes of the grip outlines, silver/stainless in color, and saw many that had an enameled S&W logo (kind of like the belt buckles).
ANY help or especially pics appreciated. And a "line" on one that might be for sale would be even more appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any assistance rendered.
Tim

YEAH Baby...that's what I'm talking about.
Had someone on another forum try to tell me that these were, "like fuzzy dice or curb feelers", except that I can relate a story where they made a GREAT head knocker without busting up your grips.
Anyone else have a pic with a logo or badge? And yeah, I'm looking for one for sale too but don't want to bog down the thread in a "wrong" area. PM if you have one hanging around you can part with.
otherwise...anyone got "grips cap porn"

Back when they were popular, they were mostly for looks but they did keep the bottom of your grips from getting banged up getting in and out of the patrol car. My belief is that if you get "knocked" in the head with the butt of a revolver, it wouldn't make much difference if it were bare wood or metal plated. And.....most were "home made" or "custom" as the bottoms of the target grips are not all the same, would have to be fitted to your particular grip.

Yes, checkered and mounted in the late 1950’s.

I have 2 from my early years with Houston P.D. They were made by Nelson-Silva in Houston and are no longer in business. The quality was excellent and the engraving superb
