Sal, can you post a photo of this knife? I think I have all the S&W knife catalogs, but a quick check doesn't turn up a knife of your description. Is it marked as made by Taylor Cutlery? What is the handle made from? One of the confusing problems with S&W knives is that literaly dozens of knives were, and are, made a samples for S&W to pick from for later production for sale by S&W. Those knives not seleted are then sold off to knife dealrs with the S&W logos & other stamping still intact. Knives are always showing up in the secondary markets, that appear to be S&W knives, but never had any official connection with S&W, other than they didn't make the cut when selection time came. Taylor Cutlery is a major player in this type of confusion. One of our S&WCA members met the Taylor people at a SHOT Show some years ago, and made a deal with them to send him one of each S&W knife they made. Pretty soon he was receiving a box a week with several doz. knives in them! Approx. one out of a doz. were knives S&W selected for factory knives, the others were samples never put into production or authorized by S&W. The above is not to say that your knife isn't a factory authorized knife as there are authorized knives that were small production and never made it into a factory knife catalog. When S&W had their factory store outlets around the US some years ago, I occasionally saw knives, and other S&W memorabelia for sale that were never in a catalog. Ed.
