Default Books for S&W collectors Library

What books are in your S&W library?

Here are most of my S&W books I have accumulated while collecting these fine firearms.
Listed in order in the pictures.

1. Standard catalog of Smith & Wesson Ed1 - Jim Supica, Richard Nahas
2. Standard catalog of Smith & Wesson Ed3 - Jim Supica, Richard Nahas
3. Smith & Wesson American Models - Charles E Pate
4. Smith & Wesson's Autos - Duncan Long
5. Smith & Wesson Handguns – McHenry & Roper
6. Smith & Wesson 1857-1945 - Robert Neal and Roy Jinks
7. History of Smith & Wesson - Roy G. Jinks
8. Smith & Wesson Revolvers - John E. Parsons
9. Artistry in arms - Roy G. Jinks
10. 12 Revolvers
11. Images of America Smith & Wesson - Roy G. Jinks and Sandra Krein
12. The S&W Revolver A Shop Manual - Jerry Kuhnhausen
13. Dates of Manufacture S&W
14. Blue Book Pocket Guide for Smith & Wesson Firearms and Values – S.P. Fjestad
15. Smith & Wesson Revolver Handbook- Ian Skennerton
16. Smith & Wesson Tip-up Revolvers - Roy G. Jinks
17. My Life Journey with Smith & Wesson - Dwayne W. Charron
18. Bullet Holes - D B Wesson
19. 100 years of gun making - Carl R Hellsrtom
20. Notes on Pistol Revolver S&W .38in
21. Burning Powder - D B Wesson

I have a few books on my list to buy some near impossible to find. The campers gun, Match par, S&W M&P revolver, to name a few.

What other books should be in a S&W collectors Library?

Jamie, Add "U.S.Handguns of World War 2" by Charles Pate, Andrew Mobray Publishers; "Magnum, The S&W .357 Magnum Phenomenon" by Timothy J. Mullin from Collector Grade Publications; "America's Right Arm" by John Henwood. Published by the Author; "Variations of the Smith & Wesson American 1870-1874" by Roy Double, published by the author 1971; "Smith & Wesson Revolvers" by Martin Rywell; "The Japanese Chose the Smith & Wesson" by Francis C. Allen, et al. Published by the author 2011; "Smith & Wesson Firearms" This book is in Japanese, printed in Japan, circa 1985 and and describes & photos the Roy G. Jinks Collection of Smith & Wessons; "The Knives of Smith & Wesson" by Clarence Rinke, 1990. Published by the author; "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" by Supica & Nahas, 2nd Edit; and "The S&W Revolver" by Jerry Kuhnhausen. Also, Roy Jinks monograph on S&W Automatic Pistols, given out to attendees at the 2013 Annual meeting of the S&WCA in Kansas City, MO. Add the above to your library and you will have a good start! There's another book by an author named Boorman, but it's full of errors and not worth being in a good S&W library. The Match Par "book" is really the instruction guide on how to play the game. See my "Match Par" article in the SWCA Journal Vol. 35, Spring 2001. Ed.

Thanks

This is what I was hoping for with this post, 4 more books to look for, ebay here I come. I thought it might be 5 however you mean Martin Rywell, also is the book with errors Boorman’s, I have not purchased this book as Clint on the cover doesn’t fill me with confidence it’s a serious history book.

Another good book; Smith & Wesson 6 guns of the old west - David R. Chicoine.

With “Match Par” I knew it was the game, more importantly it’s a book produced by S&W and belongs in the library alongside Bullet holes, The revolver The journal of the revolver makers, The ideal place to learn to shoot, Burning powder, The campers gun, Five championships won, 100 years of gun making….....any others.

Cheers.

"America's Right Arm" by John Henwood, if you can find one, is an excellent read about the M&P revolver, the subsequent K-frames models it spawned, factory and after market accessories of the period.

The book's author was local to me and I was able to track him down and contact him. I learned that he still had a limited number available and bought an autographed copy.

Sadly, not long after that John passed away. As a result of inquires made about his book from forum members, his wife said there we no more copies of the book to be had.

I was lucky to find Henwood's book on eBay the other day. It arrived today so I haven't read it yet but it does indeed appear to be a good book.

You may be luckier than you think. I set ebay to email me if this book was listed and I didn’t get an email. I had a typo and missed the listing. Thanks for the posts as I have now fixed it, maybe I’ll get the next one, thanks and enjoy the book.

Fast & Fancy Revolver Shooting is more of an enigma than a book.

Ol' Ed could shoot, but not write so much.

Keith should be required reading for 1st graders.
