Can anyone give me an approximate manufacture date of this box of S&W .44 Russian ammo?

It looks like it's Pre-war and the Lot number might be K4474T. If you Google that, or go to the Winchester, or Ammo,. Forums you can usually get a knowledgeable reply. Ed.

This box has been assembled from at least 4 incomplete boxes. This will make the lot number meaningless and pinning down the date of mfr. difficult if not impossible. best you could hope for would be to find the approximate decade. The K4744T is not the lot no., but the Item designation no. from the contemporary Winchester catalog.

Thanks Ed & Larry. I know there are 3-4 different types of ammo in the box. I was just looking to date the box.

The Olin Industries callout near the lower margin of the box top indicates it is from the period 1946 to about 1955.
