Knife in the safe or on the belt
I sold a few guns at a good price, the buyer was appreciative and gave me this knife.
He received it from an estate and knew little about it, I have no idea of its age or collectability.
Can anyone tell me about it?
Should it live in the safe with my guns or on my belt when hunting?
Thanks.

Use it. They also made the same knife with S&W 144th Anniversary etching and without any etching. The plain blade and Texas Hold'em knives usually could be bought for $39-$49.

I was really liking the knife until I saw the cheesy Texas Holdem logo, no offense to Texas or poker but on that knife it cheapens it IMHO.
I really dislike manufactured "collectables" for the sake of collecting.
Get yours now limited edition, limited to about a half a million that is.

Jamie, Use it. Go for a walk-about in the outback and pretend you are Crocodile Dundee! Have fun, Ed.

I think there were ~7 models of "collectable" Texas Hold'em pocket knives plus the big bowie.
The S&W 144th Anniversary version of the big bowie is pictured in the Knife Photos thread.

Smith & Wesson might put their name on knives, but they aren't anything like their revolvers and they aren't made in the USA. Use it all you want.

Anything sold as "collectables" is not worth anything as such -- mainly an attempt to market trash to the unknowing and luring them into thinking they have a treasure-- not saying this knife is trash, but most of this stuff is.These days you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a collectable -- JMHO

Thanks.
When I seen the “Texas hold em” I straight away thought it was cheap knife mass produced knife. Didn’t want to say it, in case I was wrong. I’m interested now to see how long it keeps its edge.
I will take it north in a few weeks on the next hunting/ fishing camping trip.
May be I’ll get to hypnotize a buffalo, put some shrimps on the barbie, and get to say “now this is a knife”.
Cheers.
