S&W Holster 21 63
My Son picked this up at a flea market last weekend for a few bucks, I didn’t ask, but likely didn’t spend too much.
At first I thought it was for a K frame since it’s for a 4”, but when I tried it’s far too small. Fits my Model 36 3” very nicely, except for the barrel length of course. It’s marked with the S&W logo and 21 63 on the back. Might even fit a 5” since it’s open.
Was it made just for the Model 63 (or maybe a 33-1 after it went to the J frame)? Not a bad holster, just not that many longer barrel J frames around that come to mind.
Any other 4” J frames around that I’m not thinking of?

S&W holster model 21 is the Blazer. It was one of the most popular of
the S&W line, inherited when they purchased the company formerly owned
by Wally Wolfram. The number 63 is the size code. I know 62 is for a
J Frame with 2" barrel, so a guess that 63 is for a 3" barrel is a pretty
good guess. When the 2nd number is 4 they are for 4", when the 2nd
number is 6 they are for 6", so the 3" barrel makes some sense. More
than just a guess.

Danny this thread should probably be in Gun Leather and Carry Gear.
Perhaps turnerriver will see it and move it if he agrees.

Crazy Phil is correct in that your holster is for a 3” J frame. I have a 21 64 that fits my M63 4” barrel with about 5/8” extra length to protect the muzzle. From your pictures, your holster is a little shorter than mine.
There are seven 4” J frames: model 30-1, 31-1, 33-1, 34-1, 63, 631, & 651.

This fits in either category but thanks for the plug, Phil. It’s a reminder to take a look in both places if you’re seeking information and to take a look around the whole forum now and then. It couldn’t hurt and I always learn something when I do.
Regards,
