Here's my new Smith and Wesson Border Guard folding knife. It's a nice folder and I'm happy with it considering how much I payed.. $11 :)

Not a bad day! A new knife AND a new gun! (Beretta 96G .40)

Smith & Wesson marked knives seem to have glutted the market the last couple of years. Ebay is full of them, and out here in Calif., BIG 5 stores have 100s of different S&W knives for sale for under $10 usually. I just bought two shooter knives on eBay for $5, which were selling at the last S&WCA meet for $20 to $25 each and those are S&W made knives, not Taylor Cutlery, S&Ws current licensee. It would be a real task to put together a collection of one specimen of every S&W knife authorized by S&W, as there are literally 100s that Taylor has marketed. Several years ago, a friend of mine & S&W collector, met Taylor at the SHOT show and arranged to have Taylor send him an example of every knife Taylor made for S&W. He started getting packages every couple of days with from 1/2 doz the 20 or more different knives. This went on for about 2 yrs. and he has 1,000s of different knives that all say S&W on them. Most of which are designs I've never seen before or since. It turns out that Taylor would send the same boxes to S&W for the factory to pick out a couple that they wanted Taylor to make, and the other knives in the box were not selected by S&W for marketing. So he has 1,000s of knives that are one of a kind, but never put into production, all say Smith & Wesson. Someday all these knives will be sold off and collectors will be scratching their heads trying to figure out a nice knife, marked S&W, fits into the lineage of S&W knives, as it won't appear in any brochure or catalog! Rd. I wonder how long it will take Taylor to come out with a Michael Jackson Commemorative S&W Knife? It would have to be a design safe enough to give to a 10 yr. old boy, of course! Ed.

That's a sweet little knife for $11!

I need to find myself some of these cheaper S&Ws.

Here's my knife - it's a S&W Extreme Ops Folder. I think it was about $15 on ebay. It looks cool, but is perhaps overkill for opening boxes.
