Default Performance Center Box Questions

Hello all,
Does anyone know when S&W started including the Aluminum Briefcase style boxes with the PC1911s? What year did it stop? How does One tell which style goes with the different years? My limited understanding is that there are two types.
I hope that I asked this in the right section.
Thanks,

My 1911PC Scandium Commander came in a gray plastic box, nothing special at all.

With Performance Center offerings that were Distributor Exclusives, Smith & Wesson did not choose the box, the Distributor did

The answer is the pistol is factory with no modifications, and its not a PC Gun.
