I saw a nice looking S&W 12ga. at the store today. It was a semi-auto Model 1000, which was made by Howa for S&W.
The salesman gave it to me to look over and as I started reading the barrel, I was surprised to see the Mossberg name on it. Then I remembered that both Mossberg and S&W carried the same Howa guns at one time. But it got me wondering. Why did someone put a Mossberg barrel on this S&W receiver?
Would you suspect problems that someone resolved with a barrel change? It made me shy away from the gun. Too bad though, it fit me just right.
