Opinion on S&W Model 1000 Shotgun

I have an opportunity to purchase a like new S&W Model 1000 20 gauge shotgun. The owner wants $400. The gun looks great and comes in the original box. I don't know a lot about this particular model and would welcome opinions about the model and price. I am looking for a good shotgun for skeet shooting and fun on the range.
