So i shop at a small Home Town Gun store called "Safes Unlimited" here in Keego Harbor, MI
I stop in twice a week because their always getting unique and unusual pre-owned guns and knives.

today was no different:
I shoot clay with a buddy of mine every so often and always have to use his shotgun (never owned one)
But today I stop into Safes Unlimited and they just received a batch of used guns.

I saw this beauty sitting in a corner that had not been checked in yet and knew I had to have it so I bought it.

Like I said I have never owned a shotgun before but I brought it home and began to do some research on it

I can't seem to find much about it.
There's tons of videos and literature about the model 1000 but not the 1000S
Does anyone know anything about it or have heard of it?

The Fluted barrel at the end is unique and there is no place for a choke
Im wondering what year?

Looks like the skeet version of the 1000: 26” barrel with factory compensation (the slits in the barrel) circa 1980 or thereabouts manufactured in Japan.

It’s fixed choke. The degree of choke should be marked on the barrel. I suspect improved cylinder.

Nice gun.

Super Skeet gets you a steel receiver - standard models are aluminum - and the S&W idea of the Tula recessed and vented choke, said to give very even patterns, especially with old style card and felt wads.

Nice looking gun and that figured piece of walnut would make the gun sell for good bucks made new now today. Believe guns were made by Howa back then. Like the sight too. Hopefully it will score many clays.

Grain pattern on that stock is gorgeous
