Default Feedback on the M&P FPC ?

I'm considering one of these and would appreciate anyone's feedback on this particular model. Price point seems reasonable and overall Youtube reviews are positive. Thanks

You will love the FPC.I put a SIG MSR, green optic on mine. After zeroing, very accurate out to 80 yards +/- from a bench. Acceptable accuracy out to 100 yards.
Being a blowback, it does get dirty, especially the bolt face, but is easy enough to breakdown for cleaning. The rifle comes without sights so plan for that expense in addition to the price of the rifle.

Shot an FPC a few months ago and almost went with it over the Response. It was accurate at 50 yards with a cheap red dot on it. May look at getting one as SHTF truck/trunk gun

Already many threads here about this but as I love my FPC so much I will put my 2 cents in again. I love mine and so does my wife. Super simple to shoot, clean, and carry. I did change out the buffer end plug and the hand guard with Taccom3g parts. Shoots like a dream. I put a Athlon Midas TSP1 red/green dot on it. My better half has an Astigmatism and the green works much better than the red.

It has all the comforts of shooting an M&P pistol in a carbine/rifle platform. I have taken my FPC out to 100yards and still retained the accuracy. I have not taken a deep dive into what ammo is the best at that distance as it is mainly a house defensive weapon and would rarely see action at 100 yards. I have been tempted at putting a newer higher power scope on it but and in the process of getting ready for hunting season and have several rifle loads I am working on.

Bottom line is haters will be haters and those that love it will always say good things about it. For what it is and the price, it is a very good PCC. I just wish that S&W would take the next step and make a 45ACP/FPC.

Just bought mine, and on my first shoot with it I was hitting shots over 60 feet with basic sights. I am working on adjusting the sights to get even better shots. I have a muzzle brake ordered that I will be putting on before my next range trip. I am also looking for information on a recoil pad for the FPC. Any info would be appreciated!!

My wife has had a FPC for some months as her fun gun over what was our AR9 10.5" pistol . The fpc's extra mags do not get carried in the stock when used .That adds to the weight to the rear of the carbine and hurts the balance of the firearm . Plus there slow to use during mag changes so when on our range the 23 round mags are on her side like normal handgun mags , Guess the stock mag holder is good for general transport needs or storage but that's all for my wife.

Unless your a weakling I still feel the AR carbine , rifle or pistol makes for a better shooter and is more tunable . My wife is 69 and 5-2 and she still takes time to run her 223 wylde Ar15 carbine monthly and I have finished a 5.56 10.5 upper for the AR9 pistol . Its made with a standard 5.56 upper and lower with a stoner colt uzi mag adaptor for 9mm use . An AR9 will cost more than the FPC . Takes all of 3 minutes to swap the AR9 buffer weight, upper and to remove the mag adaptor to shoot 223 or 5.56 .

Default S&W FPC, Response & free optic.

I tried to find an FPC to handle last year when they first came out. Nobody had one locally. After a while the Response came out. I was able to check one of them out and bought one. Nice gun. Like the Flex Mag. I can pair it with my Glocks or M&P's with the mag wells included with the firearm.

Just bought an FDE FPC Saturday. Added a Sig Romeo 5, back up irons and an angled fore grip I had hanging around. Should be a sweet little compact rifle. Hope to get out and put some rounds through it this week.

Anyone considering an FPC or Response, S&W dropped a rebate for said PCC's purchased from Oct. 18 to Dec. 31. Buy either and get a free Vortex Crossfire red dot sight. $150.00 most places I've seen that have them. Better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I'll post more info on the FPC after I shoot it and see how it performs.

Huge FPC fan here. Mine has been 100% reliable and a loads of fun to shoot. Accurate with a Holosun green dot optic. In fact, I relied on it and a M&P 2.0 while hiking alone along the south Texas / Mexican border last year. It's a lot of packable firepower, shares mags with the pistol, etc.

I paid extra to get the FDE model to complement my 5" FDE M&P 2.0. While I've still got a few Glocks, I prefer the M&Ps and have several. Would like to see them come out with a 10mm PCC to team up with my 10mm pistol.

I got one to be a reasonably accurate and reliable tractor gun and it has been just that. Folded it is easy to have handy in a soft pouch. It is not a highly refined and finished firearm but it does exactly what I wanted for a decent price.

Default Love it!

I've had mine now for about 6 months and bought it for 2 reasons: The main one being that it folds, which means I can carry it under the seat of my motorcycle. The other is that I can mount any optics I want... and did. I'm using a very large scope, and it's almost as long as the barrel. You cant do that with most other folding guns. I shoot a metal target at 100 yards and hit it every time. You cant ask for more than that!

I bought one last week, along with a Holosun 510 green dot. I have about 150 rounds through it, and at 27 yards (the limit of the indoor range), it is deadly accurate. I like the fact it folds up as it will fit in a backpack. Not to mention, it makes the barrel easy to clean. This is the first rifle I've ever owned and I am pleased so far. The next step is to take it to the outdoor range and test accuracy at 50 and 100 yards.

My understanding is that under normal circumstances, longer barrel lengths translate to greater velocities. However, some people in the comment sections on YouTube are saying that because the cartridges are 9mm pistol, it wasn't designed for longer barrels and the end result is a bullet that doesn't go faster than your typical pistol barrel length. Has anyone chronographed pistol carbine 9mm?

Most 9mm factory loads can give increased velocity out to 16" of around 150 to 200fps but some defensive bullets designs do not works better at the higher velocitys long barrels can offer .

My wife has a FPC and after plenty of range time with her FPC we talk about how she feels about her carbine and she has come to a conclusion that the length of pull is to long measuring 14.5" !! AR design can offer shorter length of pull . Most any normal rifle you may own will have a stock LOP of 13" to 13.5" shorter are avaliable for ladys or youth rifles or just smaller frame folks

I figure s&w designed the FPC Length of pull as long as they did is because when folded its basically the same length as the barrel less any muzzle devise added . If you use this FPC as a so called truck gun and you have a jacket of coat on in cold weather be sure it doesn't hang when shouldering if your use to other long guns.

I run defensive drills with my AR carbine or pistol with stock adjusted for a 11.5" LOP elbow tucked in to my ribs .
\

If you just got to have a m&p mag 9mm carbine the response might well be the better option . Or assemble your own or buy a ar9.

I haven't. But I ran across a YouTube video with lots of data. I would have preferred a spreadsheet.

I sorta buy his testing method but not sure it is real world accurate. He uses the velocity posted on the box. I would tend to believe that it might be a tad higher than reality. If he had used a Ruger pistol vs the PCC I think he would have seen a much bigger increase. Likewise, I would like to see a M&P 2.0 vs a FPC or the Response.

Ultimately I am not sure it matters, the PCC out there should give an increase and they should be used as they are intended. To me they are a plinker and a defense weapon in certain circumstances. He talked about using them for hunting pigs. Not sure I would buy that.

Dang, just as I anticipated: Pistol carbines produce minimal to moderate increases to velocity across multiple cartridges (2-15% increase), except for Winchester PDX1, which was a 17% increase. Would have been nice to see 25-50% increases in velocity across the board.

I have had mine for about a year and it’s a blast to shoot and very accurate. I put a Banish 45 on the end of it with great results. Just wondering if anyone has a trick now to get the buffer tube spring any quieter? I tried a little oil but that did not make any noticeable change. With the suppressor on it that’s all you can hear for the most part.

You might be able to try some lithium grease. I never really noticed it too much. Not sure you will really get it that quiet.

Here is some test info for self-defense rounds from pistol caliber carbines:

The use case for mine is Steel Challenge and I love it.
