Well, yea. If I had access to a place "outside" I'd do it, but I don't think a tresspassing charge is worth it. I checked it yesterday, and sitting in my safe doesn't seem to have hurt it any.

Just got mine. Palmetto State Armory M&P 15-22 Sport, 3 25 round mags and a S&W 34" case. $429.00 Went to the range-- iron sights were a little off, but the TR-25 Bushnell was dead on. Very accurate and tight groups. One failure to feed in the first magazine, all the rest no issues. Fired 225 rounds.

It can become like a gambling addiction or like any other addiction, suddenly your wanting to replace every OEM piece on your gun till you've created FRANKENSTEIN'S 15-22.
Use extreme caution my friend.
Most accurate post on this entire thread. Should be stickied at the top as a warning to those choosing to own one or more of these guns.

Warning: 15-22 may be addictive.

Cheap ammo, low recoil, and very effective for target plinking and small game, arguably the ultimate survivalist gun.

But just wait until you put a thermal scope on a 15-22. I have two 15-22s, one with glass and one with thermal:
