Any info that Smith has addressed 15-22 issues?
Just on this board with the number of guns being sent back for broken feed ramps and FTE problems, is there any info that S&W is actually correcting the problem at the source? Or are they just planning on fixing the guns one at time into perpetuity?

Just got one and it runs perfectly. Haven't got a scope on it yet so no real accuracy test yet but it is very impressive otherwise. I reccomend them.

I know alot of people have had great luck with them. I am just wondering if S&W actually did SOMETHING to address the issue, or it's just luck of the draw.

i would figure they are fixing the issue, cause they dont want people to keep having to send them in for repair, that makes for not a good rep. I got mine September 4th, and sent it back 4 days later, bout a month later i got it back, and its been great, I have a scope on it now, i can shot 2" or less groups.

New product launches by any manufacturer are closely monitored for defects. I'm sure S&W audits every return to prevent further problems and takes corrective actions accordingly. They have alot riding on this new rifle which remains very hot.

I think what ToddS wants to know is if S-W has come out with any official design mods yet. ToddS, I called S-W about another issue (a 645 part) and just frankly asked if there had been any production changes/redesigns regarding the 15-22 and as you would expect he was on the vague side but I got the feeling there has been production changes made regarding the feed ramp. Hope this helps?!.

That is what I am asking. I want one of these badly. But it would be nice to know that an issue has been addressed and corrected, not cross my fingers and hope to get a "good" one. Half expecting or accepting that a brand new firearm might need to be sent back to the factory for a known issue is just not acceptible.
And I fully understand that a new model of anything may have bugs to work out and revisions to the design or manufacturing. It would just be comforting to know those revisions ARE being made.

Just got one
I bought one last week works great. Sighted in a scope at 50 feet, indoor range. First 4 shots went into a group 5/16". Had a couple jams but when I got into a rhythm in loading the magazine went very well. Ripped off some rapid fire, 25 round strings with no problems. Love the gun.

Just get one, I did and have had zero issues/tons of fun. Or call S-W if that helps. A co-worker and two friends of mine have them also, no problems. For every gripe you are reading here imagine how many thousands of people that don't bother with forums are out blasting away w-out trouble. Also imagine how many of these gripes just might be due to user negligence.

Has anyone attempted to put one of these 15-22 uppers on a registered reciever and see if its capable of F/A? I currently have a ceiner kit and it runs flawlessly in full auto but the accuracy is not too great. I would love to get one of these but would also like to be able to shoot in full auto. Is the gun just a basic AR-15 reciever with a .22 rimfire upper or is it a completely new design that would not be compatable with standard AR lowers?

From what I have been reading and looking at the one I just bought there is no crossing, it was designed from the ground up to be a .22 only..

hmm, cant remember really, maybe 25 or less, it jammed so many times with a mag full, i gave up and sent it back to s&w. Im glad i did, works great now. Yesterday i shot a mag of 25 federals, had 1 jam, bent bullet, and shot 10 Winchester SuperX today, had 1 hicup out of them. I figure it was how i loaded that particular round, i put it back in and shot it fine. Ive lost count on how many rounds ive fired, over 400 i believe, and ive had maybe 5 or less hicups with it. So im happy.

Thanks, tx, the reason i ask is because ive put about 6 mags through with cci and have gotten about mabe 6 -7 fail to feeds and 2 fail to fire. Before switching to cci i was using remington bulk with every other round misfeeding. I think the gun is ok, but just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
My plan is to just shoot the hell out of it, and as long as im getting a few misfeeds here and there, assume im good.

Over 425 rounds without one hiccup since I got my 15-22 back from S&W to repair the broken extractor. All on Federal Bulk from WallyWorld.
The Remington bulk doesn't feed well in anything but the Advantage Arms .22 conversion kits for Glocks. There are exceptions, but very few on the Rem GBs.
These semi autos are picky about the ammo they like fed to them. Find ammo it likes and stick with it. I would not keep buying a bad brand of gas for my truck, so won't for my rifle either.

I know its picky, im just saying ive read so many comments about flawlessness that im beginning to wonder, ive been through a few mags with all 25 being perfect in rapid fire, and then ive had a mag with 1-3 ftfs too. Im using CCI, is this just acceptible to have a few ftf every now and then or should i try switching ammo again?

So I asked my question diretly to S&W. I got the following reply:
"The answer to your question is yes, some modifications at the manufacturing level have been implemented."

I love paying retail and being Beta tester on a product. When I got my 15-22 back from S&W the enclosed paperwork simply stated "upgraded to current specifications".

I've got well over 1000 rounds through mine and have had one FTF and that was because I hadn't put the last round in the magazine properly. I've shot mostly Federal and CCI Blazer bulk pack ammo and one 50 rd. box of Winchester ammo. The gun functions flawlessly thus far.

same here, since i got my gun back from s&w, ive shot close to 500rds with 5 or less hicups, and i blame that on how i loaded them in the mag. Been alot of fun.

I have found that Federal GameShock 22 ammo works flawlessly in mine. Feels hotter than CCI mini mag.
