I have a question for the guys that have colored in the letters on their gun. How do you do that? I see you use crayons. Do you melt them down or something like that?

This is a method I learned from ar15.com

Clean the area with soap or rubbibg alcohol make sure it free from oil and dust particles.
Then just rub and push the cryons tips in to it.

with finger tip pressure, use rag damped with WD-40 to wipe off the excess.

That's all to it.
I have use the same on my other black guns for over a few years now.

How "permanent" is the crayon?

Under normal usage it last very long time (1.5 year now on my other guns with about 7 thousands rounds + normal cleaning cycles).

However it is not permanent. You can use toothpick to dig/remove it.

do you have to use them expensive crayons or will regular crayola crayons work?

this is what i thought.....off to wally world for a red and black crayon.

right, dont know wht i was thinking, you are correct sir.

I was thinking about painting my 15-22 barrel with duracoat stainless steel color along with the trigger some other parts to but have got myself to did it yet, still thinking about it. Here's a pic of my Mossberg 500 that I painted with duracoat stainless steel, and black with a matte clear coat.

your shot gun looks sswweeeet ! did you bake the dura coat on after or just let it air dry ? im thonking of doing that to my 22A barrel.

Thanks, I just let it air dry, its holding up pretty good so far. If I had a stove or something to bake parts in I would of baked them instead.
