Black Dog Machine M&P 15-22 Mags

Last month we had a thread about this. Several of us emailed them showing intrest in 10, 20 round mags and also a 50 round drums. I got a reply saying they would have a prototype in late February. It looks like the 50 round drums are available for $90.00 now. Has there been a change to the 10 & 20 round mags?

Agreed. He needs to come over here for input.

BDM has their own forum section on AR15.com therefore I posted the initial question in there a few weeks ago. That is where they responded that they were looking into it. At this time, makes more sense to show interest in that initial thread.

But I agree, at a certain point, we should get them into this forum.

why post at ar15.com? tell the black dog guys to check out this forum to see the desire for aftermarket mags:D

Because he is a forum sponsor on arf.com. Forum management would probably frown on BDM coming here and soliciting business.

I signed into ar15.com and voted.

*****PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE design them with METAL FEED LIPS.....!!!!!!!******

I have the drum for my Sig 522. I bought the 15-22 tower that is available for the drum, but have not installed it yet.[/QUOTE]

Can you give some more info. How does the tower adapter and drum for the Sig 522 work together? Where did you buy it/them? I want an evil high capacity mag to do lots of paper punching.
BDM could check out the forum all they want. If they did, they would see the want of their high cap mags for the 15-22.

BDM's 50 round drum can be used with the SIG 522 (and other dedicated uppers that use this same mag), Ruger 10-22 or S&W 15-22 by changing out the tower adapter (the piece that goes into the magazine well. So you could buy one drum with a tower and buy the other towers and switch them. Or just buy the specific drum and tower for the gun you want it to fit. You buy them from Black Dog Machine.

So why is there all the confusion about no high cap mags for the 15-22? If what you are saying is to go to BDM and order the X size mag, with a tower adapter to X gun(s), you should be set. That would be too simple. Thanks for the info, now I need to contact BDM tomorrow.

Exactly. Just go to the BDM web site, order a 50 round drum with the 15-22 tower and you are GTG.

Are those drums as time consuming to load as I think? No matter which size, they all seem to empty much too quick :p

Got pics of your rifle with drum?

Not yet. Been too cold to shoot, and I have to take the existing tower off the drum and put the 15-22 tower on. Should not take too long, but you know how anything you do first time goes. :o

I have shot the drum a lot on my SIG 522. Like anything else, first time is learning. Gets easier and faster the more you do it. :D
