Default 15-22 saftey?

Is the 15-22 compatible with standard AR-15 safeties? I have a Rock River Ambi-Safety in my AR and I would want to put one in my 15-22 when I get it.(hopefully this weekend)

I'm not sure if a stock ambi-safety will be compatible as I think the 15-22 is a bit wider than a standard AR. I was able to put in an aftermarket safety into mine. It works just fine but it is recessed a bit on the "non-lever" side. So that could potentially cause problems with an ambi safety. However, if you find one that works please let me know as I'd like to put one on mine.

Otherwise you can always make your own which is what I was considering doing if I can't eventually find one that will work. I remember seeing at least one of the other members had done so already.

You're in pioneer country here with an ambidextrous selector. You remember the pioneers? The ones with all the arrows sticking in them?

As noted the lower receiver is quite a bit wider -- note the trigger and hammer pins aren't flush as they are on the M16 system.

You can reverse the M&P 15-22 selector. It's designed for this. But I'd think any normal ambi-selector is going to drag on the receivers.

There are some smart guys here, though, so a solution may be at hand.
