YouTube - Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22

read the comments below this guy's video. after he was suggested ammo and tweaking his extractor he said it ran perfectly. I'm glad there are people on here who found this stuff out for us early so that we wont have to go through this kind of torment. Thanks for all the info guys, cant wait to get my gun in.

The first year and new gun/product is released its well known to not buy that item unless you want to be a Beta tester for the company and you have to expect issues. Many may not agree but thats how life works. It takes time and experimentation to get most products perfect and very few if any are perfect with no revisions done later to fix the things they found.
Look at Glock for example, I know some of their .40 cal pistols have been threw many revisions internally that goes beyond generational differences.
And guess what, Glock will never admit these issues or redesigned revisions. But they at least stood behind the product and fixed what broke all the while NEVER admitting an issue existed.

S&W knows there is an issue and the recommended ammo list proves it. Also the fast turn around and complete internal replacements along with free mags i feel S&W couldn't have handled this any better.

But yes, It sucks for the guys who buy the gun as soon as it hits the market, But with patience and a good Company with a great warranty and excellent customer service makes it all not such a bad process.

If this gun was made by Taurus people would begging fellow readers to never buy this gun. And i cant say id blame them.

A good video, Helpful to those with problems. From what I've read they have good customer service and seem to change to address the problems. Can't wait to pick mine up!

I agree, I now own two S&W products and they have both been in for service, yet I couldn't be happier with the service that I recieved. I will buy from Smith knowing that any problem will be handled in a timely manner, you can not say that about too many other companies, regardless of the original price. Just ask a Toyota owner.

You would hope that with a firearm, Smith and Wesson would not become the Microsoft of the industry. Judging from the issues with the M15-22, I'm starting to have my doubts.
