Broken mag load assist button on my only mag.
I have no clue how, But when cleaning the gun today one side of the button was just hanging there.
What you guys think S&W will do? Maybe after i call them i can email a pic of the broken part and they will send me a new button or mag?
Mailing the mag off for replacement will be a pita, I guess im gonna have to break down and find a way to buy an extra if thats the case.

Better off just grabbing a few extra mags and just keep that one for parts. Had one of mine do that already.

Someone will chime in with certainty, but I'm sure s&w would replace a defective mag, and from what I've heard they're now sending out the new style on a regular basis.

S&W will mail you out a new button no problem. I emailed them and gave them my mailing addy, explained what happened and they mailed em out USPS Priority.
But honestly? I removed all my buttons and now load my mags like you'd load any other magazine, the button just causes more problems than it solves IMHO.

Yep, even when I slightly use it it still occasionally causes a vertical rd.

OK, Well seems ill let it slide.
I know for a fact i get in a rush and still get mag snags due to my hastiness. I need to buy an extra in a few weeks anyhow.

Went thru a few hundred rounds before the OOB yesterday. No ALAB, no mag-snags. Thumb isn't to happy about it, but if not using ALAB is the remedy for mag-snags then so be it.

Another 300rds yesterday with zero mag-snags. That makes zero mag-snags for the last 1k+rds. IMO, the Jury has reached a verdict on this issue. No ALAB = No Mag-snags

I have used the assist button for all loading since I bought the 15-22. I experienced numerous mag snags which was the cause of my rifle and four mags going back to S&W. The five 2nd Gen. mags that they sent back to me have also been loaded using the assist button but with not a single snag in 500 rounds fired.
I have read where others have had mag snags with 2nd Gen. mags. but mine have fed perfectly and my thumb really appreciates the button!!
