HOME INVASION FOILED WITH M&P 15-22
The masked intruder and his 2 sidekicks were caught trespassing in the wife's garden. Stingers are awesome!

id be careful about posting up pics of animals that you are killing, in some areas its not lawful to shoot in your yard especially when an animal is out of season (or if its in season). some people may take it the wrong way.

Just got the Magpul AFG to replace my china knockoff grippod, and have not bought a dedicated bipod yet. The scope is an Osprey 3x9 tactical mil-dot. It is also China made, but very good quality. A little on the pricey side $175 but an excellent optic. I swap back and forth with a reflex red dot and it holds zero very well with no adjustment as long as I put it back in the same place each time.

What kind of shroud is that? Did you have to have a threaded barrel? It looks sweet.

The 15-22 is a firearm. The firearm is a tool. The firearm as a tool has three uses. Target Shooting, Harvesting animals for food, Killing humans. I am a target shooter that also harvests small game. Hunting pictures should not be a problem as long as they are not grotesque/abusive. I believe the Ruger 10-22 is still the king of varmint control but the S+W 15-22 is now the king of small game hunting. I don't mean to hijack this thread but pics and recipes are always welcome.

i hunt 8 different animals in 4 different states every year, i wasnt saying that I** had a problem with it, there are however, people that look for **** like that just to start things. (i had a picture of a buck i killed posted up and some idiot reported my email address from the forum and told the VDGIF that i had poached it because i posted up the pic in july, the date on the picture said 9-28, bow season in kentucky)

Does this mean I shouldn't post images of FIVE semi-headless groundhogs that my brother shot on his farm with a S&W M&P 15-22 and 60gr SubSonic ammo, at about 60 yards?

Reason: a 5th groundhog was recently added to the butcher's bill

Didn't mean to offend. I live a bit "off the grid" on 100 acres with nearest neighbor a mile away. I routinely shoot varmints that destroy my property, crops, livestock, frighten the wife/daughter etc. So far I've shot numerous snakes, skunks, squirrels etc and the 15-22 is excellent for that purpose plus a whole lot of fun for target shooting. If it offends I will not post anymore pics of animals. The 15-22 is also quite deadly to paper targets!
PS Congrats Shock&Awe on your 5 groundhogs! I've been thinking about trying those Aguila 60gr subsonics. Do they reach 100 yds, or is the drop to hard to compensate for?

We are running out of living targets, since everything out to about 75 yards have fallen victim to our two S&W M&P 15-22 enforcers.
We plan on taking them out to the club next week, to shoot at some paper targets, to prove that these 60gr SubSonics do NOT keyhole, as at least one forum member here has implied.
We don't plan on changing our sights, but will report back on bullet drop at 100 yards.
Tests done by Aguila and others claim that this 60gr SubSonic ammo will penetrate approximately 24 inches of ballistic gelatin at 200 meters. I find that very hard to believe, but have no way to disprove it.
We know that this specific 60gr SubSonic ammo is already VERY effective in Iraq & Afghanistan with the Walther Pistol.

Is there a Walther pistol that uses .223?

Must be if it is working over in the sandbox! Watch out for that recoil though.

The grip would have to be bigger than an AR-15 mag for a pistol to use .223. He is suggesting that they have been using Walther P22's over there. I saw another post somewhere that an soldier home from active duty bought one because he saw one being used in the sandbox with a silencer.

Groundhog is a huge problem and danger to livestock. They can make an arm of holes that can cause all sorts of issues.
