Mine flew off when I dismantled my bolt and I stepped on it. I reinstalled it and now having light strikes almost every shot.
Does anybody have an extra one or know where I can get one?

Contacting S&W directly seems like a good place to start.
Good luck.

Smith and Wesson seems to be very good with customer service. Just give them a call!

Do you have a pic of the spring?
I have no idea how the bolt recoil spring could have anything to do with how hard the hammer hits the firing pin.

Make sure your hammer pin hasn't walked out of the receiver. That seems to be a recurrent theme on the forum.

Exactly correct, bolt not sitting tight so not in battery completely.
Using kns pins, so hammer pins good.
Anybody know. Part # for bolt spring?

You will find S&W no help on this one. I lost a spring and a detent and couldn't get a part number or diagram or anything from them. Their solution was to send it to them, they would replace the parts that were needed and send it back.
My solution: Take to local GS and let them replace it. Way easier.

The local gun shop or gunsmith does not have special access to S&W parts.
I would contact S&W customer service and work with them first. You never know till you try. They have been great to work with.

From another post, the pic/document has been floating around on here.
s&w407790000 "blue bolt spring".
I copied that pic from this site. Not sure the origin, it's not mine and the credit lies elsewhere. But it lists what should be the correct part number. I would imagine you would want to order it from Smith.
