Default Trying to replicate my AR

Just picked up a 15-22 because I can't afford to shoot my real AR that much right now. On top of that, I don't have ready access to a range that allows .223 either. So I picked up a 15-22.

The real AR has a LMT Crane Stock, Magpul MIAD Grip, Magpul MOE handguard, Magpul AFG, Magpul Rear MBUS, and an Eotech 512 on it.

Trying to get me 15-22 set up to replicate my real one. With the exception of the MOE Handguards, it's pretty close.

Having a problem with a sight though. I really can't see spending several hundred on another Eotech, but I want to replicate my AR as close as possible.

Can anyone recommend a single lens red dot that is any good? Doesn't have to look like an Eotech, but that would be a plus. I've seen a Sightmark and an ATN but the reviews are spotty. Looking to spend no more than $150.

Want something that replicates my Eotech in function (how I function with the rifle, not the function of an Eotech). Any input would be welcomed.

FYI, seems like there are several cheap single lens red dots out there, but most just appear to be the same sight with a different brand pasted on it.

I have the Eotech 552 clone from Rrages.com and its a nice sight. Comes in at 99 bucks and looks just like an eotech. it has worked well for me and a couple other members. one of these days i need to take some photos of it and put up a review.

I'd just take the Eo off the real AR and put it on the 15-22... So you will have to sight it back in on the AR, no big deal right?

I have an LMT crane stock clone that I picked up for $40. Nowhere near the quality of the real deal, but also not $150 for a stock.

The rrages EOTech clone is probably a good bet. The money back guarantee he has is great if you feel the sight isn't what you were looking for.

Thanks guys! Will take a look at rrages.

As for swaping the real Eotech back and forth, I don't have easy access to a range that allows .223, so I hate removing the sight and then having to re-zero it when I want to use the .223 again.

Other sights I've looked at include the:

ATN Ultra Sight Red Dot Reflex Sight
ATN Ultra Sight Red Dot Reflex Sight DTRXULSTM FREE S&H DTRXULSTM. ATN Red Dot Sights.

Sightmark Ultra Shot Sight
Sightmark Ultra Shot Sight SM13005 FREE S&H SM13005. SightMark Red Dot Sights.

Mueller Optical 1x22x 33mm Quick Shot Waterproof Red Dot Scope
Mueller Optical 1x22x 33mm Quick Shot Waterproof Red Dot Scope FREE S&H MQS12233MB, MQS12233. Mueller Optics Quick Shot Red Dot Sights, Mueller Optics Red Dot Sights.

Nothing very promising yet. Just trying to find an "open" (no tube) / single lens red dot to replicate the aiming with my Eotech. I know for my < / = $150 budget nothing will compare to the real thing, but for a practice / fun gun, something has to be close. Will check out rrages. I think I got something from him before.

Buy a quick release for the one you have.

Maxi:

I've got the GG&G AccuCam on my Eotech now. Due to the ballistics of a .223 doing different than my .22, I'd have to rezero for each weapon, right?

Would it be possible to keep track of how many rotation of elevation and windage between the .223 and .22 and then just dial in the setting? Or is that idea too easy and still wouldn't get me a zero'd weapon.

FYI, I am not a competition target shooter. Combat / tactical accuracy where I hit what I am aiming for with no flyers is more in my ability and style of shooting.

i took the 553.A65 off my LMT and put it on the MP15-22.

the weight of the EOtech was too much for the AR but PERFECT for MP15-22

just by a lighter RDS for the AR and you won't feel so bad buying another $600 optic.. That's what I did for the the Aimpoint T-1
