Wondering if the Midwest Industries Quick Detach End Plate Sling Adapter [ Rainier Arms, LLC™ | Browse | Carbine Sling Mounts | MI Quick Detach End Plate Sling Adapter ] would be compatible with the 15-22 tube.

My Thought Process: a novel.

I bought the 15-22 A1 and my buddy, who bought the MOE, upgraded to the Magpul CTR stock and gave me his old MOE. Love the MOE because it is so much tighter than the ultra-loose factory A1 stock.

I want a QD sling point on the stock but don't want to drill nor buy a new stock. My goal is to have 2 QD points for my 2 point sling. I have a hand guard point already [ Quick Detach Dovetail Sling Swivel Mount - QD Sling Thing Side Sling Mount ] and am currently unclipping from the short end of my sling leaving the shorter free running tail attached through the slots on the MOE stock. [Outdoor Connection Edge Tact 2 Point Sling - Sportsman's Warehouse ]. The end plate adapter seems like it might be close enough to where I'd like it and price isn't too bad.

I was also considering an attempt at getting one of these to somehow work with the MOE stock: MI QD Rear Sling Adapter MCTAR-10 [ Midwest Industries: Buttstock Sling Adapters ] or the GG&G QD Rear Sling Thing GGG-1012 [ GG&G ]. Both of these routes would most likely take some finagling (feed bolts through sling loops or something, very ghetto) and would ultimately work fine on my original A1 stock.

I also came across this guy's method [ MAGPUL MOE Stock: Sling Swivel Modification ] but it seems mildly ghetto as well.

Maybe I'm just being cheap and I should buy a stock manufactured for what I want [ Vltor IMod (Improved Modstock) Standard Commercial ] or purchase the CTR and go all out with the LaRue RISR [ LaRue Tactical RISR / CTR Combo ].

Any feedback would be great, thanks!

-Michael

Obviously the pics were taken before I installed the MOE stock, just wanted to post them to help explain the shorter free running tail of the sling.

Yes, the MI attachments that are intended to slide over the buffer tube nut will work, but you need to flip it around, i.e. the MI lettering facing the muzzel. I used one for a while and it held tight the entire time.

Perfect, that's exactly what I'm going for. Thanks for the pic, ordering right now! Will post an image upon installation.

Only pic I can find right now. It is flipped as I described before. Hope this helps.

It does help. Thanks. If you get a chance, a close up or 2 or 3 would be awesome and also the model number of the MI mount would be perfect so that others will know what part to order and not order the wrong one.:)

I know for a fact that the Daniel Defense Bolt-on QD mount does not work due to the 15-22 having its adjustment channel run the entire length of the underside of the tube--unless you cut that out, which I am not willing to do.:(

There should be some pics in a thread started a while back. Here are the three I know work. Models MCTAR 13, MCTAR 14, and MCTAR 30.
