Default "pinched" empty casings on 1st trip with 15-22

Took my 15-22 to range for first time today. Much fun to say the least, but I did have some issues. Woud appreciate any insight.

I cleaned the bolt and barrel before I went with CLP. I used Winchester Super X High Velocity 40 grainers. I had at least 1 if not 2 what I would call failure to ejects in each mag. Actually, after firing the roud, the empty case would get "pinched" between the bolt and the ejection port (if I'm using the right teminology).

I cleaned it when I got tonight, again w/ CLP, and this time was a bit more liberal in how much CLP I left on the bolt and "inside" the receiver where the bolt is put back in. Hoping that will help.

Any ideas or thoughts?

You might also try to "tweak" your ejector a little bit by bending it towards the center of the bolt-not just in the left-right direction but also the up-down direction. If the ejector is not lined-up just right you will get FTEs. Mini Mags are great while the rails and bolt are getting broken-in. You might also try a little more lubrication along the rails-the less friction the better.

When I first got mine I tried Winchester and mine didn't like it at all and I changed to federal champion and it has not had 1 FTE or FTF in over 3000 rounds

make sure you are loading mags carefully, and try some diff types of ammo. mine seemed to dislike the winchester stuff. i have least incidents with the cci tactical, and federal lightning. haven't tried federal bulk yet. mini mags seem to go either way for me depending on batch.

I'd save the "tweaking" until later. Load the magazines right, clean the rifle well, try different ammo then maybe mess with the ejector.

Thanks for the education guys. Looks like I'll be trying some different ammo and maybe adding a bit more oil to the workings.
