ACRONYMS
My first post. I really enjoy this forum and those involved. The information provided is based more on fact and experience than opinion. This is refreshing after years on car forums. There, you have mostly subjective opinion and 'punks' ranting and flaming those who have a different ideas, thoughts, opinions. Not so here. There is more of a mature, professional atmosphere with a helpful attitude present. Anyway.........I purchased my 15-22
three weeks ago. What fun. Have run about 500 rounds no problems. Sighted in both my Magpul sights, and Barska scope.
First time I've ever done this procedure. Years ago my Dad handled this stuff. I'm right on at 50 yards.
The modding is really fun. Kinda like the car stuff. I can't believe I'm actually cuatomizing a weapon. It seems like no matter what anyone does to this rifle it looks kool.
This sight provides invaluable insights and information on the 15-22. I'm not of the military/ police background so I sometime have problems with the acronyms used throughout the threads.
Some, I can figure out others not so good.....Now to the title of this thread. I wonder if someone could create a 'sticky' with the most common ACRONYMS used throughout the threads. Probably not totally necessary but it could help some of us noobs read through the threads a little easier. This sounds a little wimpy but it could help. Thanks for your patience with this long post.

Which ones are you having issue with? A lot of product names for accessories are acronyms now and companies like Mapul are rife with them (MOE, CTR, ACS, BAD, ASAP, RVG, MVG, AFG, UBR, MBUS etc etc).
One of the common ones mentioned is OOB - referring to an Out Of Battery detonation with the 15-22 that can cause damage to the ejector bar among other things.
Can't think of any others right now

FFL - Federal Firearms License (often refers to the holder of one)
OTD - Out the Door (total price paid, all inclusive)
LEO - Law Enforcement Officer
LFI - Lethal Force Institute (Go Massad!)

Magpul Specific:
MOE - Magpul Original Equipment

That's all I can think of right now... Ow!... my head hurts!

FTF could also mean "Face to Face"
SPF = "sold pending funds"
WTS = "want to sell"
WTT = "want to trade"
FS or F/S = "for sale"
FT or F/T = "for trade"
RKBA = "Right to Keep and Bear Arms"
Someone else's turn to add?

FCG - Fire Control Group Combination of Trigger, hammer, springs, disconnector.
I am a computer programmer, in business intelligence, in a health care company, non profit, with lots of government oversight.
When I started working for the company, I had a 240 page dictionary containing ACRONYMs and their meaning.
I mean we had (for example)
FCG - Fire control group
FCG2 - Fierce Castration Gantry
FCG3 - Flipping Coffee Grubber
BARF - I swear to God this is a system I have to work on.
I felt like I had been transferred to japan.
Welcome brother. If you hate the car forums, stay away from the motorcycle forums too. Bunch of idiots there too.
ETA: Thanks Smith357 for making me learn more acro. :-) *******. A few I didn't know there.

BeginningOfTheEnd, I think you may have just brought this thread to an end. As for acronyms and abbreviations, go to netlingo.com and take a look at the 50 or 100 most used text messaging acronyms and abbreviations. I was surprised, but then I'm an old guy.
