Default Where does this part go?

I installed a new trigger in my 15-22 and at some point the part in the photo below fell out. I didn’t see from where it came. I took an educated guess at where it should go when I put the rifle back together. There are two springs that are held in by the grip. One is the safety detent spring and I’m not sure what the other one does. I believe my mystery piece goes in the hole in the lower receiver that the “other” spring goes into, followed by the spring itself, and then held in by the grip. I seem to remember that the “other” spring stuck out of the hole and without that piece in there it goes all the way into the hole. Did I guess right?

Definitely looks like the detent for the take-down pin. This picture will probably help figuring out where and how it goes in:

That's the little piece that holds the take down pin from completely coming out. You guessed right, the detent then the spring in the takedown pin hole.

When I assembled my Spikes lower, I had one of them pins go flying like a tiny missile; never found it. That's when I realized there's a reason why Spikes packed three of them in their parts kit...
