Front rail sling adapters?

Hi all,
I was wondering about how well the forend rails would hold a sling adapter, one that mounts on picatinny rails, seeing as how the forend is made of plastic. Also, for those using a single point sling: Doesn't it make the end of the rifle drag the ground when you carry it by the sling?

I was wondering the same thing on the rails? I have seceral AR's with SPS and they do not drag on the ground. I am only 5'9".

I utilize the Picatinny rail type sling for a conventional sling arrangement.

I originally had a single point type sling, and at 6' 2" it didn't drag on the
ground, but hung around an area I did not care to have it banging around.

:D

I did, however, get a swivel point connector for the aft attachment point,
as opposed to the original loop type.

Works great for hauling around in the woods, as I really don't do the patrol
type work with this weapon, and it doubles as a brace for stand-up firing...

I also use the picatinny rail sling adapter and it works just fine. Plus, I installed a sling adapter on the MOE stock so I could have a 2-point sling. Mine already had the 1-point sling adapter, but I prefer the other. :D

That sounds good. Thanks a lot for the advice. Thanks Jammer for the photo; I am planning to use an adapter just like that but I am planning on putting it on the side.
Spectre USA- how did you attach the swivel to the aft area? I've seen tube adapters but I thought these were only for detachable buffer tubes.
Thanks for the input guys. Also, just for the info my rifle is a DTX serial# model and it has performed superbly- accurate and reliable out of the box. It punches tiny groups at 75 yards with the irons, which is pretty amazing for me since I can't really see that great beyond 50 through them.
Thanks again!

i'm using a 5.11 vtac single point, it attaches to the tube with the included straps (includes 4 attachments i believe.), and it doesn't drag.

I used the Magpul RSA sling attachment loop on my 15-22 and it works so well I put on another one back farther on the rail where the forearm rail meets the reciever so I have another option when carring the rifle with a sling. An around the neck sling carry with the rifle in front ( keeps the rifle level and ready for action ) of you with the sling mounted in the rear sling loop and the sling loop located next the reciever front loop or carry on your back using the rear sling loop and the front loop ( about 1inch from the front of the rail ). I like the way the Magpul sling attachment contours around the forearm guard even when the sling isn't attached and it never catches on anything plus it looks it should be on the rifle rather than an add-on. All IMHO

Yep I know exactly what you are saying; put the swivel up closer and you have a "1.5" point sling setup (hey did I just coin a phrase there?). Functions similar to a single point but more stable and less likely to muzzle drag.

I use one of these for both my M&P15-22 and AR. It's a convertible 1 to 2 point sling. In the single point mode, both rifles aren't low enough to have the muzzle drag/hit the ground.

Michael-
That is one nice setup there. Thanks very much for the links. So the rear sling tube adapter bolts on and and stays put? I don't want anything metal to be sliding around on the plastic, but if it stays put I think this is exactly what I am wanting! Hope you don't mind if I copy your sling setup; I will tell anyone who asks where I saw it first ;).
