I have owned my M&P 15/22 for about six months now and have been applying various attachements. I started with a forward grip/bipod which i love! to go from a standing or crouched postion into a stable prone with the quick release bipod is amazing. i just recently purchased and attached a Leapers UTG SWAT Force Red/Green Dot Sight which i have been very impressed with so far. I would like to do competative shooting and I am looking for a single point tacticle sling to attach however I have noticed that the buffer tube and receiver are all one piece so i can't apply a sling attachment point. I have the 6 spot adjustable stock. I figured this would be the best place to see how other people have over come this obsticle so I can review all the options and pick the best one.

since you have an adjustable stock you have many options. i know there there are a few other threads on here with recommendations. i personally use a 5.11 vtac sling which comes with a few different attachments not requiring addition of anything to the rifle.

All slings suck. Single point slings suck most. Not called the Pendulum of Pain for nothing! But they look kool posturing for photos on the range. :p

A good sling (not sure what a tactile or even tactical sling might be) should allow you to easily transition to your pistol if needed, and to move without holding the rifle with one or both hands. Not found a single point sling yet that will allow this.

I mount my M&P15 sling on the forearm and stock. The M4 has a sling attachment point at the aft end of the receiver, but I don't single-point it.

i attatched my front point just past the reciever on the rail--used a doubled-up piece of 8strand paracord and melted the ends after knotting close to the rail....back point is through the sling loop though i admit i might just have to steal Chuck S' idea for the rear point...that there is some ingenious shtuff!!!

I agree single-point slings are a good way to slap your 'bag' with a loaded rifle!:eek:

this lays the rifle square across my chest right shoulder to left thigh--not comfortable by anyones standards but it works for transitioning or for keeping the rifle out of the way and in a safe direction while reloading ETC

I used uncle mike's QD 1001-2 for my singlepoint QD. I drilled through the buffer tube. (it's solid all the way through, not hollow)

sling attachment

I do not have the MOE version, but take a look at the sling attachment point just in front of the stock. I got brave and drilled a hole at the excact same place and cemented in uncle mikes push button detachable sling mounts on both sides.
came out perfect.

I am a fan of 2 point slings and have recently been introduced to the rapidly adjustable type. I despise single point slings as I am under 6' and practically drag the muzzle on the ground with the sling at its shortest adjustment. Padded Adjustable 2 Point Sling Budget friendly and have seen positive reviews. Basically a plastic hardware copy of the VTAC sling. A loop of paracord tied through the handguard will work for a cheapy sling mount. I currently run a Blackhawk Rapid Adjust 2 point sling, HD Push Button Sling Swivel and Rail Mount Sling Adapter. My 15-22 also wears a Blackhawk VFG and Hogue pistol grip.

Go with a Midwest Industries butt plate adapter then get a Magpul MS2 sling & the rail attatchnent set up. Will post pics of it later. Have that setup on mine. Can easily go from single point to traditional sling with ease.

I love being able to clip on or completely off:

Nice looking setup other than your sling is attached backwards. The end with the rapid adjust tab goes towards the muzzle so you can use your support hand to adjust the sling as needed.
