She's a Beaut man, I love that FDE I always have, have fun with her guy, I know I have.

Congrats! I'm new to the forum and just picked up a MOE standard black version today! Stoked, although I'm not sure when I will be able to shoot it.

I do have a question. After handling the gun the dealer packed it up in the box and when I arrived home it looks like something is missing from the box. There is a cut out for the rifle, mag, lock and another cut out about 2 by 3 inches that was empty. I called the dealer and he stated that nothing else was in the box other then manual and registration. Am I missing something?

Thanks Raylo...I think I know what you're talking about...the cut out you're referring to looks like where they would have put a 10 round mag. Mine came with everything already attached (i.e. MBUS sights and One QD swivel sling mount)...the lock bag had my MBUS front sight adjustment tool enclosed). Also the owner manual warranty paperwork was there also.

Range report...1st time out 300 rounds 80cci mini-mags, 50 Federal Lightnings, and 170 Winchester 555 Super X....no FTF's or FTE's. The TRS-25 red-dot was off in elevation by 4" too low. My indoor range only gets me out to 54 ft...and is tight quarters. So I'll take it to my outdoor range where I can dial in the red dot at 50 and 100yd. The groups were solidly within 2"...made large hole in center of both targets. I only have three mags now, but will definitely get another seven. The tip of my left thumb was stinging from the loading assist button. Best of all...I had a blast...would have went another 200 rounds, but didn't want to hold up the bay any longer...the range was very busy for a Sunday.

Aa. Another happy 15-22 owner!

Congrats..... now the accessories buying starts. More mags, carry case, more mags, optics , a box of 64 crayons, etc...

Aim small,

Picked my son's moe fde about an hour ago. It took a call to S&W to find out where and when they were shipping. The entire shipment of 15 were gone in an hour! I got lucky. Luv this 22!:D

Thanks Tom. Now that you said that it does look like that is where the 10 round mag would go.

Going to the range on Monday for the virgin shoot, will let you guys know how it goes.

OK, got all of the MagPul parts installed on my M&P 15/22, I am done ordering for her. Here is my version of the MOE, even installed the quick release myself.

How did the QD socket turn out Ace? Can it take some abuse? Might have to do that mod eventually. I'm not liking the CTR's socket for single point anymore. It puts the barrel too close to the ground. So it's either a clamp-on from MI or adding my own socket like you did.

Thanks

I feel the same way. It seems like a weak point already, but I still want to hear how sturdy it is. I haven't handled any of the MOE's that have the socket included so I have no idea.

Sweet 15-22. Quick question, is there a little gap between the lower receiver and the moe grip?

I know that there is if you add a moe grip to an original model 15-22. I wonder if they changed the grip or the lower if the gap is gone.

There is a gap from the MOE grip on the M&P 1/22 frame, it s normal for this. The MOE fits snug on the full size AR15. They sell a gap filler at brownell's but it says "Will not fit MOE grip". The quick release works fine, the rifle is light and my MOE sling works great. But if I had to do it again, I'd go wth the attachment onthe buffer tube. Thanks for feed back, keepem in the X ring.

The MOE version of the M&P quick release are very strong, it has a screw holding both cups together. Mine is just epoxied, but it is solid for my use. I think the MOE version will hold up longer than mine with heavy uses.
