My S&W MP15-22 is on its way
Well I finally got a chance to go shoot one at my local range. It was a blast so the order went in today and just awaiting it to arrive at the FFL dealer. I did order a scope ncstar scope 3-9x42. Yeah is a fairly cheap scope but its my first ever scope so see how i like them and then see what the upgrade later on if it fails. I cant wait to hit the 100 yd outdoor range. I did also order a bipod handle.
Any hints for a new owner on maint or accessories or anything else to pass along

You'd do better posting in the MP15-22 forum, that's why it was started.

Don't worry about it being a cheaper scope. Nc Star, though obviously not gonna be as good as an aimpoint or anything, makes a good product for the money. I have had my hands on a few and was impressed with it.

Oh, and welcome to the family, just be ready for the black gun disease to take over. All your computer time will go from browsing porn to browsing AR furniture. Lol

Congrats!
You can externally accessorize the 15-22 with any standard AR accessory. This makes the 15-22 a money pit, a fun one.
Cleaning is easy-peasy. I use Hoppes No. 9 & a bore snake to clean the barrel. I wipe down the chamber, bolt, and trigger group. I lightly apply oil where needed.

Correct! I had to keep myself from dumping serious coin on 17 mags so I could take a full 500 round brick of ammo loaded into mags to the range. That way, there would only be one massive mag loading session in between bricks of ammo.
I'm only 15 away though now...
