why?
my 2 9mm's dont have manual safeties and the one on my 1911 .22 never gets used. most of the time i only use my 15-22 safety when passing the gun off to other shooters.
i use the most important safety i have, my brain, when handling guns. the only way they're going to fire is if the trigger gets pulled so i just dont pull it.

Not me. I've never, ever used safeties on guns. Just something to forget to take off before using, to my mind. I know the loading status of my guns at any given moment, so have no need of them. My self defense guns don't have them at all (would never buy one that did), and some, like my Kimber .45, require specific states (cocked, in that case). Nope, no need for them (for me).

My hands down favorite rimfire rifles are my Kimber 82 of Oregon and Kimber Hunter KoA Yonkers. Handgun would hae to be S&W 17-8 10rd alloy.

Nope. I don't mind it a bit. Firearm safety is about more than that little piece of plastic or metal on the side of the gun.

I have a Sig Sauer 1911-22. I really like this gun. Similar to my Kimber, but cheaper to shoot. Added a stainless full length guide rod and spring, removed the mag safety, re-did the magwell housing, replaced the safety with my Kimber's parts bin, and refinished the grips.
Turned out really good imo, not in the same way as my kimber, but it's only a fraction of the cost.
and this is the Sig:
I love the way the grips turned out!

After my 15-22, I love my Buckmark Camper with a Burris Fastfire II. It's a 5.5" barrel in this picture, but the barrel is out right now, being cut to 4", recrowned and threaded so I can mount a can.

Yeah, it's a pretty sweet handgun for $370 new. I shot ~300 rounds through it today, along with ~400 on the 15-22, and 100 through the Kimber. I usually stay within the 21' range too with the 1911-22 and Kimber.45. It's hard for me to stay consistent with both guns. I'd rather be proficient at the Kimber, and play around with the 1911-22, than try to become proficient at both. My mind just doesn't seem to be up to the task when alternating rounds from .45 to .22. It's not that I can't shoot it well, but when I do, I notice that I lose it a bit on the .45. Then, when I focus back on the shooting style of the .45, I lose it a bit on the 1911-22. But generally, the Sig 1911-22 is pretty darn accurate when I try, or when I eventually run out of .45 ammo

hadnt thought about that, it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the 9mm 1911 im buying. i plan on setting them up as close as possible for practice purposes. i paid $399 with a free 2nd mag and the od color i wanted, cant beat that!

Most every real American gun owner should have a least one 10/22.

I do believe that forward grip on a pistol will cost you about 10 years in Club Fed if caught. jus sayin

If it is a registered NFA firearm he can do pretty much what he wants with it. It being NFA makes it a class of its own.

i don't see any aspect of it being an NFA item. I'm an avid NFA 'stamp collector' and pistols have no barrel length limit, mag capacity, etc. the only thing that would qualify it as NFA would be if it is fully auto which is doubtful, especially in .22
an actual Mac will cost beginning at $6000 on up in this part of the world, plus your tax stamp, and the dreaded wait.
also, just because it 'may' have a real can on it...looks like a shroud to me, does not put it in a 'class on it's own'. you can only do what you pay for, you pay for the form 4 stamp for a can, that's it. if it's a rifle and you have a legal can it's more paperwork and another tax to SBR it.
a forward grip on a pistol is a no no in pistol form. if it started life as a carbine, rifle considered, was legally SBR'd, then the forward grip would be good.
keep it like that, add a shoulder stock, will get you an additional 10 years for another illegal part on a pistol.
jus sayin!

Here is a Buckmark Stainless UDX or VDX (can't remember) that I should of never got rid of. This was my all time favorite plinking pistol that I traded for a blown up '95 DT 140 factory Jet....

Kayback is right.
It is a registered SWD M11/9 9mm sub machine gun with the stock temporary removed. I added a Lage Mfg 22LR upper, SilencerCo Sparrow suppressor. I shortened the barrel to 4.5" so most HV ammo is subsonic. The short barrel is threaded it .5x 28 x .400". It's fun to shoot a full auto 22LR like a pistol without any recoil.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1z60KSeuXk
M11/9 SMGs are still currently $3-3.5K. I bought for a lot less yrs ago. The Lage upper is $500 and the Sparrow is $400. It is most fun firearm I've ever owned. After I put it together and played with it a bit, I sold most of my other .22 LR firearms.
Tittle II firearms are not limited like Tittle I firearms. Transferable machine guns are not restricted by barrel lengths, overall lengths, Post/Pre ban features or accessories like a FVG.

Here's my M&P 15-22 hanging out with with my other favorite .22's. Marlin 783 22 mag is the one on top and the lever guns are Marlin 39a's. When the weather's nice the M&P and the two lever guns get quite a workout!

Here's my Marlin 99-M1 gold trigger that I acquired after my grandfather passed away in 1981. I was with him when he bought it in the mid 70's. He paid 59 dollars for it brand new. Tube fed, holds 9 rounds of 22lr.

Finally got some pics of my Ruger Mk III 22/45 TB so I've got something to post here
It's got the Houge grip, Bushnell TRS-25, TacSol compensator and holster, and Volquartsen match trigger, sear, and Mk II bushing.
After some initial frustration w/ the disassembly/reassembly quirkiness I'm really happy w/ this pistol. It's tons of fun, has a cool Han Solo type aesthetic, and seems surprisingly accurate at range considering it's only a 4.5" barrel.

It's not completely finished, I've got a little fine-tuning around the edges. And boy does your hand oils make the aluminum shine grubby real quick. Polishes out easily tho. I still got a finish round and put it all back together. I had to come back to work for 3 weeks so it got put on hold til I get home. I just threw the slide back on to get some pictures, that's why the safety's not in it.
