Arrow Magazines: 10 Round Short vs 10/25 Long

Which magazine looks better...10 round short vs 10/25 long?

While shopping online, I am finding that many places are out of stock or are back ordered for the 10 round short.

If you have a short magazine, please post up some pictures.

Evening ECLIPZD95

In my estimation the long 10 round mags definitely look better in the gun.

The strong suit of the short 10 rounder is the ability to allow easier bench shooting as the long mag takes elevating the gun way up to allow the long mag to clear the shooting bench.

If you do now or ever intend to shoot off sand bags on a bench then you probably should have at least one short 10 round mag.

i like short for looks. the long look awkward to me. I plan on getting 2 short and two long 25rd. just for capacity. Looks more sniper like, if that's the look you're going for.

Here's mine with the 10 round shorty, they look nice and fit better in the rifle bag. The shorty 10 round mags are great for zeroing the weapon on a bench with a bipod or sand bag. Also for just bullseye shooting. The 10/25 is more for tactical courses but here in Commifornia,we can only look like a high cap mag, lord knows what criminals we are for having high cap mags when the criminals don't even follow a SINGLE LAW on anything, go figure... OK, off my box.

I loved the look of the 25 round body when I first bought my rifle. I'm now ONLY going to buy the 10 rounders(Until we can legally own "high capacity" mags). It's mostly function over form in a way, I guess. Really no need for the extra length without the added capacity, it's useless to me. It did take me a while to get used to pulling out the stubby 10-rounder v.s. the 25's and you can easily tell which way the rounds are facing without looking on the 25 rounder because of it's shape. I want to do the appleseed event some day so the ability to shoot prone is a must.

*Wish S&W would make the 10 rounder cheaper since it's less material =/ $10 msrp, please.

I agree with you, if one lives in a restricted mag capacity area. Fortunately, we manage to defeat the mag ban every year here.

The difference in material amount is probably no more than 10 cents - 20 tops. But I am surprised they are the same price, too.

Ohh, okay. I wouldn't know how that stuff adds up to. I'm thinking, though: These plastic magazines shouldn't be close to $20. I see the 20 round Magpul P-mags go from $11-16 online. These should be $10-13

My question is why only 25 rounds? Given the size of the .22 I would imagine a lot more capacity possible. Also i forget which brand but they have 30 rd. .22 magazines

The price is high due to the weapon is new, give it another year or so, the prices will come down. This weapon is hot in the 22LR circle, S&W is pumping out thousands a month, go try to order one. Here in Calif. it is hard to find one, you see the bull barrel around but not the treaded flash sup. model.. Give it time. Also we should start seeing after markets to make mags for the M&P 15/22 soon.. I hope..

Also they can't seem to stagger rim fire effectivly to put more rounds in a 25 rd. clip size, since the bullet are so tiny and slim. The big problem is that dam rim that's larger than the casing, makes for a difficult design.. You best bet is belt feed for volume, but really is that practical for most shooters, just my opinion..

44mag.com sells both for $16.

If you don't like these mag prices, I suggest you try buying some double-stack pistol mags.

$30-$40 is common.

Ohhhh, man..That's not fair hahah. Yeah, my FN Herstal FNP magazines go for $35, normally. I actually found an AMAZING deal on these magazines for $13 so...Lower the price, S&W! You reminded me I need to get a few more handgun mags. Glock magazines seem cheap, no? I don't own one .
