Rifle Case: For M&P 15/22..
We talk a lot about the M&P 15/22, but what about the rifle case that holds them. I got ModGear from (CTD), 1 Double case for the AR15 5.56 and a single ModGear for the M&P. These soft cases are great, protect your investment, holds all type of stuff and is very tactical for handling you rifle to and from the range. If you have one, share it with us, I want to see the pro's and con's of them. Thanks

Single Case: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE1000-1.html

I got a Plano Gun Guard (36") from Wal Mart for $40, it's a fantastic hard case, super beefy, watertight, and pick and pluck foam. It holds my 15-22 with carry handle mounted optic so it's plenty wide, also enough room for 4 mags (or 2 mags and 2 boxes of mini-mags). CTD and Amazon have it for around $110, wal mart is definitely a better buy!
I can't find it on the WM website, seems to be in store only. Here's the link to amazon:

$40 is a steal for that case. I can't find it either and believe my Walmart only has a soft case, no hard cases. I ended up getting a Flambeau Single Gun with egg crate foam. Would much rather have foam that is cut out to eliminate movement. Not a terrible case for $39. Holds my 15-22, 2 Mags and my Sig P226.

Here's a couple pictures of the Plano Gun Guard with the 1522 in it, lots of room in there for a hard case, especially considering the price.

5:11 Tactical double bag. Nice but heavy. Better have another bag on the other side to counter-weight it.

Not necessarily strapped in the correct location. I just threw them in for a pic.
Midway USA single bag. Mag pouches are small and inner lining is like cheesecloth. I ripped two of these bags in a week. I will never buy them again.
Ebay bag. Not sure who makes it.

Ebay bag. I can't remember a brand name, but they are made in the USA and sold by a guy named holsterman. This is my favorite bag I own. The mag pouches are large enough to fit my AK mags no problem. The inside is tough and hasn't ripped yet, even though I slide my AK in from the back every once in awhile and can feel some snagging.
I missed out on the Plano sale at WM.

Just got the 35" rectangle tactical bag from Midway. Plenty of padding and room for mags & 'stuff' without being bulky or overly long. Also has a detach shoulder strap. $39 (half-price) over the holidays.

I bought the same case, only the 43" version, because in CT I cannot have an adjustable stock and there was only a 1/4" of interior leeway with the 35" model.
It seems to be very well made and has a good bit of interior storage space.

Yeah, its a good snug fit, even with adjustable stock.
Still working with it as to how I want to affix the rifle inside. I'm thinking I'll mostly carry it by the handle. It flips to upside down if carried by shoulder strap.

I second the Plano Gun Guard hardcase. The $40 price was from Black Friday, and most Wal Marts didnt sell the temporary stock they got for the sale. I got lucky and picked up one about a week after Black Friday for the same price.

Mine has a 6-18 scope on it, so it tends not to move around.

No, I mean you have to carry the bag upside down if you use the shoulder strap. Seems to me that I'd want optics up top to keep safe? That the way you carry it?

I understood what you were getting at.
So far, I don't use the shoulder strap, but even if I do, the rifle is held securely enough not to move.
My only complaint is they don't make the case in tan; I don't like OD so I was stuck with black.

ACU is the uniform, UCP is the camo pattern. It just makes me sad because it's a useless camo pattern - only place it seems to work is here:

Oh, I wasn't criticizing your choice by any means - just the choice the Army made in a camo pattern.
As to having to buy it, I don't really care about if I had to pay for it - I care more about my odds of getting shot... Threadjack over!

I have the black
Homeland Security Discreet Weapons Carry Case
I bought back in 2007 when I got my Colt AR15.
It is the 40" one, and it fits the 15-22 good.
Lots of pockets, velcro tiedowns for the barrel/stock, and molle.

My Case
I found a Cabella's black nylon "Tactical" 34 inch, padded case.
It has 4 outside mags pouches, one outside zippered pocket where I sewed a M&P patch on.
Good zippers with nice pulls. A nice wide adjustable shoulder strap with nice clips on each end.
With the 15-22 collapsed, it fits perfect.

I use a ModGear/Condor 36" single rifle case.
The rifle storage section is nicely padded & the straps really secure the rifle. The front pouches hold mags & some range gear. The front has two slots for pistols.
They're great rifle cases. I have two: one for my 15-22 & one for my 15-Sport.

I have the Eagle Industries 32 inch discreet for my MP 15-22, bought at when is went on sale for Natchez on sale for $29.
It's has 2 securing straps inside for the rifle, a large external pocket, 4 internal magazine pockets, Velcro coupling carry handles and a shoulder strap.
It's made in the Dominican republic under license and I have since bought the 35 in LE version for my Daniel Defense M4.

I'm using a blackhawk sportster. Tight fitting case big enough to fit the gun with the stock fully extended.
I drive a Z so the trunk space is virtually non existent so one of the larger cases was out of the question.
There's room for 5 mags. On the opposite side there is a pouch, it is not large enough to fit any eyes and ears in it though.
I purchased this case at Dick's sporting goods for $35.
I also found this picture of a pizza on the hosting site of my pictures, it has nothing to do with rifle cases but here it is anyway.

I love pizza. Especially with burgers on it.
As far as cases, I've already outgrown my Flambeau that was fine when my 15-22 was bare. Now, I have a bipod, Magpul AFG, LED light on the side and will soon receive my optics.
So, I'm looking for a soft case with some room. Something a little wider than above since my light is side mounted. I found this in an old post. Anyone have any experience with it? LA Police Gear 36".

^^ That would have been my 2nd choice. Their photos dont really show but it seems as though there are only two mag holders / straps. Looked good for the price though.
I've bought gear from them on & off for several years. No complaints.

I got a pretty nice Bulldog case in OD green. It has an external zipper pocket and four mag slots. Works great for me and was only $35.

An update from what I posted before.
I am not using the Blackhawk anymore, I am using a locally made double case I bought from my local AR15 shop.
A divider goes between the two ARs.
Very high guilty and stitching, I like it a lot better than the Blackhawk case.

I got 3 of the Bulldog cases, one OD and two Black. Prices have ranged from 29 bucks to 35 bucks, depends on where I find them. I like them, seems like mine are the 42 or so " models which is almost a must if you use a vertical grip/bipod and a scope.
