Just wondering if s&w sold the upper by itself? Up here in Canada, we can swap between the sbr and rifle upper without issue.
So Im looking for an upper to import.
Does anyone know of a business that might have one? Irunguns may import it for me.

Btw, up here its illegal to cut a barrel shorter than 18.5" However if there is a aftermarket barrel longer than 660mm then we can use it. So cutting the factory barrel yes is cheaper but illegal here. Thats why I ask about buying just the upper.

105mm is minumum pistol length.
To be non restricted the total gun length must be 26" or more. Anything less than this means its restricted and can only be used at ceft ranges. If it's non restricted, we can shoot it on private and crown land.
What are the measuring requirement when you have a collapsible stock? Do muzzle devices count for overall length?
I'm asking because the stated overall length of a 15-22 (either pinned open stock, or collapsible but fully extended) is 33.75" with a 16" barrel. The pistol version has a 6" barrel. If you were to swap the rifle upper with a pistol upper you should be losing 10", bringing your OAL to 23.75". If you were trying to stay unrestricted, this may not get you there.
The gun is an AR veriant up here so it's restricted regardless.
Silly law I know! So yes the normal 15-22 is a rifle, with the pistol upper it would be classified as a pistol.
Anyway, as the laws are up here, we can have the pistol upper and swap to the rifle upper. Both need to be shot only at cert ranges.
Unless for some reason a 15-22 made it past customs and was sold and declaired as non-restricted.
