Default Optics suggestions?

hey guys,
Proud new owner, any reccomendations for nice optical sight or scope. Shooting mainly on a 100ft indoor range and outdoors on a 50-75yd range. Thanks

I would definitely go with a red dot for those distances. They're just more fun. It's too easy with a scope. Plus you can have it co-witness and still use the irons, which are way underrated.

My personal favorite is the Primary Arms micro dot, but there are a lot of other good options. A price range might make it a little easier to narrow it down.

I like a 1x red dot for plinking outside at soda cans and such.
For shooting at paper a magnified optic with crosshairs is better.

Primary Arms MicroDot for pistol and rifle.

For a magnified optic at relatively sort distances like you are describing I like a low fixed power scope with a fine(thin) crosshair. Primary Arms Compact 4x.

Same distant I am using my M&P. I rotated some Optic's around my AR's. I now have the Vortex Surefire on the M&P, why, well Red Dot with a 2X magnifier. It does work, but it does reduce the field of vision. 95% of my shooting is 25yds to 50yds but I have shot a few 100yds to see what I can do..

Note: Being an AR15 shooter for so many years, it's hard to pull the trigger and a nano-second hit the bullet striking the steel plate at the 100yards, it's like time had slowed d o w n. . . . . . . ......

Nikon makes a nice 3-9x40 BDC scope for .22LR. I have the big one (the M-223 BDC), and it's real nice. It's got a reticle that allows you to simply adjust your hold to instantly transition from 50 to 150 yards in 50-yard increments. It's only $150 (maybe less if you shop around). It's even got return-to-zero turrets.

i bought this scope (didnt come with rings, so add $10, $45 total). I didnt want to spend a ton on a scope for a .22 so i just went for this and am very pleased. at those ranges its wildly accurate. was at the indoor range yesterday, 60ft range, and was consistently shooting 3" groups even rapid burst shooting. with the bipod and patience, quarter groupings. the only complaint i have is the eye relief could be better but you get use to it fast enough.
