Default got my trigger back from bill.....problem

so i just got my trigger back from bill springfield, i went to put it in, every things good so far, get it in and then try to slide the safety in, and it wont go....so i look closely at the trigger and it has a little burr on it thats preventing my safety from going into place...its one of those dingle berries u get from welding ....should i just grind it off?

Did he maybe put that there on purpose to take up slack in the trigger when the safety is on? I have no other idea what a small blob of weld would be there.

The dingle-berry is there on purpose.

Are you SURE the dingle-berry is what is interfering with your re-assembly efforts?

What position is your selector in during your re-assembly?

If you attempt the re-assembly with the selector in the FIRE position, does it make a difference?

Interesting that Bill is putting the dingle-berry on the top-side of the trigger for for the 15-22.

He put the dingle-berry on the bottom side for the center-fire set I got from him.

To "safely" take up trigger creep while the safety is on.

IOW, it's reducing the hammer/trigger engagement, like the so-called allen screw mod?

Yes but in a professional and controllable manner. The screw trick just pushes up on the trigger so that it's partially not engaging the sear. What bill does is to stone the sear and notch on the hammer to change the engagement and then these "nubs" are added to the trigger so that there is no creep and when it's on safe it's actually "safe".

I am looking forward to seeing your video. If your slide fire works with Bill's 3.5lb trigger job, I am going to send him my fcg this week so he can work his magic on my fcg.
