Quick Intro...
Howdy guys. New to the site and with any luck, soon to be new to the 15-22. I ordered mine from G&R and hopefully it ships out early this next week. My cousin picked up a standard model last week and we've had a blast putting some rounds through it. I couldn't resist so i ordered the MOE FDE model. Ive got a front grip, Barska ACOG and laser coming too. It seems like I picked the most popular model since most places were out. Hopefully G&R can come through because I cant wait a month!!
Ive been into guns for some time. Ive got a S&W Model 29, Kimber Ultra CDP, Walther P22, and a Winchester lever 30-30. My dream AR is the Galil ARM(not the golani garbage) but for now Im going to "settle" with the 15-22. I think it will prove to be much more enjoyable since its a fraction of the cost to purchase and shoot. Sometime down the line the Galil will happen but for now I'm very excited to get modding and shooting.
Anyway... just wanted to say hi and thanks for posting pics. It has really helped me pick out accessories Id like to see on mine.
Jesse

Got in touch with G&R and the gun is in stock. As soon as the FFL formalities are squared away, it will be on the way.
Has anyone else had the BS line that you need a permit to purchase(a handgun or AR) to buy one of these? The pistol range Im using for an FFL is telling me I do. The police dept is saying no as is the BCA. The guy at the range said they have sold some with and some without a permit but of course, since I don't have mine I need one I went to the PD last Friday and applied but Id sure like to shoot this weekend grrr...

No permit where I am. I just have to buy the compliant model as my state dosent allow collapsable stocks. That would make it a assault rifle here.

Here in MN that's true.
From MN statute 624.712:
(1), or has a slight modification or enhancement, including but not limited to a folding or retractable stock; adjustable sight; case deflector for left-handed shooters; shorter barrel; wooden, plastic, or metal stock; larger clip size; different caliber; or a bayonet mount; and...
Permit to purchase falls under
https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/...7131&year=2009
Your FFL, Local PD and BCA should all be very familiar with the rules... they are easy to find. (Of course there are loop holes that would allow you to do a face to face transfer but an FFL wouldn't be able to legally get involved.)
If you get a carry permit you no longer need the permit to purchase.
Sorry to be a killjoy but, in my experience, it usually takes several weeks to get the permit to purchase. Carry permits (in my county) usually take about a week.
PS How were you able to purchase your other handguns? Did your purchase permit expire (since they only last a year)?
