I would look into the Jard non-adustable Brownell's part# 100-001-567.
You will also hear good things about the RRA national Match 2-stage trigger. They're both around the same price.

I did quite a bit of search on this and although originally planning on a RRA NM2, I'm now waiting on a Geissele SSA-E that I've ordered.
If you're wanting a quick & cheap upgrade whilst making your mind up, go for the JP Enterprises yellow springs for the FCG. They'll still probably come in useful to retain with whatever replacement trigger you go with (s'what I did!).

OP asked for the best trigger for the money.
I'll throw out there that the new ALG triggers from Bill Geissele's wife's new company will be the end to this discussion. Check them out. For a Geissele quality trigger at less than $50 you can't beat it.
ALG Defense - where triggers with tradition, value and regulatory concerns are of primary importance
Of course I'm partial to my SSA. There will never be anything but a Geissele in my AR's.

You have the jp springs right? Do you think bill did anything to lighten those springs or did he just remove the creep in the trigger and polish it a bit? I sent him my complete stock fcg (springs and all) and asked him for a 3 lb pull. My trigger definatly has the creep remove, but the actual pull doesn't feel all that much lighter than stock. So, I'm ordering a set of the jp springs to replace the stock springs with.

Dont think I have any guns atm with a 2-stage trigger.
Can you rapid fire(not auto duh) with them as well as with a regular trigger?

There's no substitute for actually measuring the trigger pull before and after trigger work. This is best done with a digital TP gauge such as the Lyman. Otherwise, all you have is guesswork.
In my case, the factory pull was 5.5 pounds and the JP spring set only dropped it to 4.5.

Another lover of the RR NM 2 stage. I tried CM 3.5 and it was alright but the RR was better in my 15/22 so I used the CM in my DPMS .308 where it is doing a fine job, my 15/22 loves the Rock. My opinion only YMMV.

i run a jard 1.5 pound adjustable trigger in my full size target AR15 while that might be to light for your liking they do offer heavier weights such as 2, 2.5, 3, etc etc. for the money (about the same as a rra nm two stage) its hard to beat. I love mine and wont ever buy another brand.

Easily, I've adjusted the trigger pull distance to a minimum,
also, the reset distance is very small.
Rapid fire is not only possibly, it's extremely fun!
And with a silencer, as it takes most of the recoil away, surprisingly accurate.

Why?
I mean really, it's a .22 rifle built on a copy of a battle rifle.
Be at peace with the trigger you have, after all it was never meant to be a MOA shooter.
Accurate? Yes
Needing a 2 stage or competition trigger? No

If you shoot speed steel rimfire you want a better trigger. Not so much the feel but the reset time. My PC model came with the RRA 2-Stage and after the first competition I put in the JP springs. That made it around 3.2#, a decent rimfire trigger (although my Rem 597s have fully adj. Jards in them). But I found that when shooting a line of knockdown steel I could move the AR15-22 and pull the trigger faster than it could reset with the RRA trigger. So I looked around for the best trigger with great feel and the shortest reset length. Ended up in the realm of 3-gun ARs. I had heard tales of 3-gun shooters being able to fire a full 30 round mag in 4 seconds, that is something like 400+ rounds a minute. Only 2 came to mind, the AT Gold and the Geissele Super 3-Gun. After getting a chance to feel a whole bunch of triggers at a gunshow AR builder's booth I went with the Geissele. Found some one on GunBrokers selling the curved version of the S3G for $210 which was cheap. I put it in but first I swapped the stock Geissele springs for the set of JPs from the RRA. I figured I could always put the stock hammer spring back in if it got light strikes. Turned out it runs fine with no misfires with CCI-MM.
Now do you need that trigger for plinking? No.
Target shooting? No, the spring kit would be enough.
Tactical competition? YES! Same as with an AR. With the new setup I can do a Bill Drill (A Steel Challenge practice rountine) in 1.5s both ways for 6 rounds. And that includes raising the gun from ready so of the 1.5s only about .75s is actual shooting. So that is in the ballpark for 400+ rounds per minute. Not bad for a blowback action.
